BigWigs is a boss encounter add-on. It consists of many individual encounter scripts, or boss modules; mini add-ons that are designed to trigger alert messages, timer bars, sounds, and so forth, for one specific raid encounter. These encounter scripts are activated when you target or mouse over a raid boss, or if any other BigWigs user in your raid does. In most cases only one module will be running at any given time.

If you're looking for boss encounter scripts for 5-man dungeons, these are not in Big Wigs, but live in their own add-on; LittleWigs.

Like I said earlier, try with only BigWigs enabled, test in LFR or something.

It sounds like another addon is screwing with the BigWigs settings, I'd like to know which.

What's weird is it only happens when I zone in to hfc to it seems.

When I log on and test with bigwigs create test bar all is well. I'd say about 25% of the time things stay that way. More often that not though (sometimes even after a few pulls) they just start showing up much larger. (I shrink em vertically and horizontally but via dragging the anchors not via the scale slider)

Another odd problem is a single keybind I have that stops working. Just one. Again fixed by a reload.

The only thing tying the two of them together best I can tell is svui which I used to bind my keys as well as change the font on bigwigs.

I did a repair scan of wow and when that didn't fix it - I did a full reinstall albeit I backed up my interface and wtf folders.

Is it likely the problem lies with one of the files in one of those folders being corrupt? Or more likely some kind of add on conflict?

I don't want to redo the settings on all my addons with legion so close I spent a ton of time getting things ready (just returning basically) but at the same time I want this sorted. Nothing sucks like being mid pull and finding out you now have bars covering half your stuff and/or you no longer have binds for some of your keys and are now a clicker

Anyone with some more insight able to guide?

Wtf folder was backed up via pure drag/drop. The interface folder and associated settings were backed up and restored via curse client.

I'd imagine if the problem lay in the wtf folder I could back up my macros with the text files but what else would I lose by deleting?

Are all the files stored there on a per addon basis or all in the same file?

Process of elimination is what I'm trying to avoid lol.

Another option is my UI which is still being updated and I'm unsure if that's the culprit. Since it holds much of the functionality I use (including binding) turning it off to test is counter productive.

Sorry for the long post - just wanted to be thorough and get this solved before legion.

No, sounds like a problem with your system. If you /reload straight after making changes, and it's still not kept, then something is wrong.

You can also try with only BigWigs enabled.

Switch Profile with LUA

hi! maybe a different question: is there a lua command to switch the BW Profile?
i have an UI Comp using 2 different layouts, switching them with reflux, but somehow the BW Profiles dont switch properly.
Since i tried a lot, i am asking if there is a lua command to switch the profile manually. Would help me very much.

Can you possibly make an option not to replace original queue ready alert with its much louder version? When I'm setting desired sound levels for music, dialogue, ambience, sound, etc, BigWigs' queue alert is way louder than everything else, and as of recently this has been of much importance to me to play WoW more quietly, and I'm about to become forced to uninstall BigWigs because of this.

Try a different font? If that doesn't fix it then you're using some custom bar skin that's doing that.

Sharing settings

Have you thought about allowing settings to be shared between raid members? Possibly with a clickable link similar to weak auras?

Another option would be to have preset setting "healer, rdps, mdps, custom, etc" if sharing isn't possible.

As our teams healing lead, it would be nice to share my settings with other healers that don't take time to tweak theirs.

I didn't mean test what bars look like in general, I meant specific boss abilities to test. This way, I could change sounds/message type to my liking, or just make sure everything is working as intended so I'm notin trouble during raid time.

Did you miss the "Create test bar" button at the top of the main GUI or are you asking about something else?
