BigWigs Bossmods  Updated less than 3 days ago!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v27
by: funkydude [More]

BigWigs is open source and development is done on GitHub. You can contribute code, localization, and report issues there: https://github.com/BigWigsMods/BigWigs

BigWigs is a boss encounter add-on. It consists of many individual encounter scripts, or boss modules; mini add-ons that are designed to trigger alert messages, timer bars, sounds, and so forth, for one specific raid encounter. These encounter scripts are activated when you target or mouse over a raid boss, or if any other BigWigs user in your raid does. In most cases only one module will be running at any given time.

If you're looking for boss encounter scripts for 5-man dungeons, these are not in Big Wigs, but live in their own add-on; LittleWigs.

Woud be cool if you coud add Hymdalls Horn of Valor cast time. Its the most important spell in the fight for meeles but when the bigwigs count down runs out he just starts casting his 5 sec cast (showing wrong 1,25 sec on wowhead) so I run out too early. So make the timer count till he actually has finished casting the spell or show a 2nd timer for the cast.

Only if you're familiar with Lua, in which case there is a callback you can use.

Re: Re: Re: Countdown timer

That being text you can't set a texture to it, but you can change the font, color, size, shadow, etc.

bigwigs: no style with the ID "SVUI" has been registered. Reverting to default style.

this is upon zoning into an instance. I expected the bars to be reset but they werent. not sure if you recently added this message or i always missed it before. Regardless the only thing I change with the bars apart from resizing/locating is the font size and that stays regardless of whether it decides to revert itself to giant sized or not.

font and location always stay. just the damn size of the bars resets and its enough to drive me mad at this point

screen space is at a premium and i got it tucked where I need it until it randomly blows up giant sized again lol.

I dont doubt svui is the issue as the author is MIA and its bug laden as all hell right now. Unfortunately he doesnt seem to find the community very important and as such hasnt/wont release the source so someone else can pick up where he left off.

Amazing UI - ive used it for many years and im extremely hesitent to change. I'd sooner learn lua and try to fix it then go through the change and reconfiguration of another (im anal and very particular). Alas, not an option until he returns, if he returns.

if you'd like i can share some of the errors from bugscak with ya nad u can see if anything sticks out.

after uninstalling and reinstalling/resetting up bigwigs - still does it so im at a loss.

thanks for your time and help!

EDIT - def svui. Noticed that when its resized and working properly - its bigwigs default skin. When it changes to the oversized version it starts using the SVUI skin. No idea why it only takes on the svui skin from time to time, much less why when it does it doesnt hold the size i have/had set.

i assume the problem lay with svui's bug laden self but on the off chance there is an issue resolveable on your end.. only you would know.

EDIT 2 - disabled SVUI skinning of bigwigs and problem solved. course its not themed to match the rest of my ui but i'll live until one side or the other rectifies it. Better than having the bars suddenly swallow my unitframes etc :P and the font still stays so theres that :P

What's weird is it only happens when I zone in to hfc to it seems.

When I log on and test with bigwigs create test bar all is well. I'd say about 25% of the time things stay that way. More often that not though (sometimes even after a few pulls) they just start showing up much larger. (I shrink em vertically and horizontally but via dragging the anchors not via the scale slider)

Another odd problem is a single keybind I have that stops working. Just one. Again fixed by a reload.

The only thing tying the two of them together best I can tell is svui which I used to bind my keys as well as change the font on bigwigs.

I did a repair scan of wow and when that didn't fix it - I did a full reinstall albeit I backed up my interface and wtf folders.

Is it likely the problem lies with one of the files in one of those folders being corrupt? Or more likely some kind of add on conflict?

I don't want to redo the settings on all my addons with legion so close I spent a ton of time getting things ready (just returning basically) but at the same time I want this sorted. Nothing sucks like being mid pull and finding out you now have bars covering half your stuff and/or you no longer have binds for some of your keys and are now a clicker

Anyone with some more insight able to guide?

Wtf folder was backed up via pure drag/drop. The interface folder and associated settings were backed up and restored via curse client.

I'd imagine if the problem lay in the wtf folder I could back up my macros with the text files but what else would I lose by deleting?

Are all the files stored there on a per addon basis or all in the same file?

Process of elimination is what I'm trying to avoid lol.

Another option is my UI which is still being updated and I'm unsure if that's the culprit. Since it holds much of the functionality I use (including binding) turning it off to test is counter productive.

Sorry for the long post - just wanted to be thorough and get this solved before legion.

Thanks for the reply!
