It will ignore people who /yell.

Version history

Now shut up.
v2.4.2 (April 21st, 2007)
devnull is now enabled in Shattrath City.
Emotes no longer blocked by default.
Updated libraries.
v2.4.1 (December 28th, 2006)
Fixed a typo in devnull.toc that prevented AceEvent from being loaded by /dev/null. This would only have affected users that weren't running any other Ace2 addons.
Updated libraries.
v2.4 (December 21st, 2006)
Nun mit mehr deutscher Übersetzung. Thanks to Theragorn from Curse for his cut'n'pastable code.
Updated libraries.
Small changes to .toc file.
More WoW 2.0 fixes (by Jncl).
v2.3 (December 6th, 2006)
Many changes and extensions by Jncl and Tekkub since I abandoned it.
Many thanks for this addon, I like it very much and use it with all of my chars.
There is some things that would make this addon perfect:
I hate this "chuck norris" spam and I would like to mute all messages with "chuck norris" in it. I think it should be possible to set different text filters.
And some of the features of STFU would be very handy, such as no whispers from level 1 characters, no emote spam, no repeated messages.
If you are no going to add this I will try to do it for myself with a new addon, but I would like to see it in yours.
What you describe isn't possible with the changes I made between those versions. It's something else. Perhaps something with the libraries /dev/null uses. Get /dev/null with the latest libraries here:
There are some NPCs that yell in town that you might wont to whitelist in your filter. Examples would be Thrall in orgy, whoever yells for the ony head in Stormwind, Mouth of Kel'thuzad in all the cities during scourage invasions...
One simple filter would be to check for a space in the sending person's name, since players can't have spaces. You'd still have to whitelist a few names tho, like Thrall.
Originally posted by Zalkalin When I came up with the name, I figured it was so obvious that someone must have used it. But a search on Curse and WoWi turned up nothing, so I used it. I'll stay with it, at least for now.

I like the name, but there's already an add-on with that name, though it does something different. It attempts to minimize raid leader spam by eliminating duplicate message. It's on one of the other add-on sites.
