MetaHud  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 20400-3
by: MetaHawk [More]

This addon adds a HUD to your UI, showing all the information normally displayed by the Player and Target frames and more.
Always thought it was a shame that Drathal's HUD was given up on the way it was so, I have taken the core of that code and MetaMorphed it.
Added some features which I thought were pretty useful, and removed some of the excess stuff. Decided to release it, as no doubt there are others who enjoyed this as much as me.
Full credit to the original author of course, for the initial code.

Features:
=========
Health/Mana Bars colour levels.
All Bars are animated.
Shows Level, Name, Class and Elite/Boss, Pet, NPC.
4 Alpha Settings for: Combat/Target selected/No Target/Player is regging.
4 Displaymodes for Health/Mana.
Many positioning and Scaling Options.
Hide Blizzard Player/Targetframe.
Target Menu with Leftclick on Targetname.
Player Menu with Rightclick on Playername.
Castingbar with Cast-time.
Option to hide Petbars.
Option to hide Targetbars/Text.
Load-on-Demand configuration display.
Target's Target display - click to switch to that target.
Aggro alert - audible and visual warnings.
Target PvP status.
Self PvP status.
Status icons for Rested, Combat, Raid leader, and Loot Master.
Target distance display.
Support for Mobhealth, Mobinfo2, and Mobhealth2.
FlightMap support.
FuBar_ToFu support.
myAddons Support.
FuBar Support.

See included Readme for patch history.

02 April 2008 - v20400-3
Argh! - 2 minutes after upload I realised I included wrong file in archive.
This one contains the correct chat alert sequence, and does the CC alert correctly.

02 April 2008 - v20400-2
Updated the recommended CC macro further up this page.
Removed chat alert mouse click from flight timer display.
Added new keybinding to the system keybindings for all chat alerts.
Set key in keybindings which will then produce the following chat alerts when used:
No Hud: Pastes your current location into message box for current channel.
Hud showing: Pastes your current target into message box for current channel.
In Flight: Pastes your flight destination/ETA into message box for current channel.
Active CC: Pastes time left on CC into message box for current channel.

29 March 2008 - v20400-1
Fixed flight timer errors for new flight paths and some other minor fixes.

FYI MetaHud treats the settings for hiding Blizzard unit frames as authoritative and will show them if it is not configured to hide them. This means if a user has configured them to hide in some other addon they keep getting shown until the user tracks down your addon and sets it to hide them too.

Thank you for working on Metahud I missed it for the 3 weaks I did not have a working version. I was wondering if there currently is Death knight support? If not, using deathknight.info runes addon for the basis in the combo point area of meta hud would be great.

I also have noticed that and am investigating it and have narrowed down the function in question since the rogue combo points don't have a problem. Though if you deselect your target and retarget, it will show the correct number of stacks. So it is... half working
Excellent news!

Nuckin, thanks for your efforts. I am very appreciative of all your efforst and of all the efforts of the mod community at large. What a great thing it is to have all of these fantastic addons to make the WoW UI the best gaming interface in existance. A good deal of credit goes to all the mod authors out there who do these amazing addons that we just take for granted. Sincerely, thank you.

I'm going to cross post my initial comment over to the new page for the branch of this addon. Perhaps you should put a link or comment on the "Addon Info" tab for this addon to redirect all inquiries over to the new version, if you haven't done so already. People may or may not bother to click the comments page to see your latest posting about the new version.

warrior combo points (sunder armor) no longer appear because sunder isn't firing UNIT_COMBO_POINTS so you have to add a different check in for that.

Not sure what exactly but looking into it.

This is a MetaHud feature request...

Thanks for taking the time to revive this addon. I've used it for almost two years and I love it. it's the best HUD addon out there IMHO. I play a rogue and the way this hud shows the combo points, the buildup of energy etc is very helpful. I've got my particular config tweaked extensively. I've resized the bars and repostioned them, disabled the bar borders, modified the text items, their placement, size, etc just to my liking. I love that this mod is so customizable.

One thing I've done directly in the source (because there's not a user-configurable option for it) is to increase the size of the buff icons. As is, they are a wee bit too small. When I'm in a raid and there's a lot of stuff going on, I want these icons to be more readable, particularly things that stack (sunder) and have that tiny number in the corner to denote the number of times the effect is in play.

So, I would like to suggest there be a user-configurable slider to set the size of the buff icon. The default size is 20, but I have mine increased to 32. This stuff is defined in the MetaHud.lua in MetaHud:SetLayoutElements(). The buff sizes are easy to see in this fucntion down where MetaHud_frames is created. It would be an easy tweak to have those values come from a config. Keep in mind that there is a special case at buff9 and debuff9. These buffs are wrapped down to a second line and notice that the coordinates there are affected by the offset size of the first row. Originally it is 20, but with a user-configurable option, this offset would change as well.

Anyway, there you have it. That's my little suggestion for the day. And again, thanks for revving this mod in any case. It's one of my must-have addons for wow.

  2. Line 2055 is currently:

    change it to
    Code:
    points = GetComboPoints("player");

It seems to load and work as before, though I haven't done extensive testing at this point. The errors are gone at least, so that's a start.
thank you so much, seems to work great for normal use. (ie, options menu seems to be a little off although operational, and the fubar menu doesn't seem to work)

anyone else trying please remember to also either have "load out of date addons" enabled or to modify the MetaHud.toc file to show "## Interface: 30000" .
