AlarBGHelper   Popular!
Rate: 4 out of 5 with 6 votes
Assistant for battlefields
Displays a small window with status information.

NOTE: In Alterac Valley, bosses' health depends on synchronization. If you are the only user of ABH in your BG you cant have any info other than what is already available to you, so only if you are really near to one of them (by near I mean just outside or inside the bunker) you can see the data changing even if you are not targeting the boss

Arathi Basin
Left clicking a base button asks for help, Right clicking inform that the base is now safe
Clicking on "Ally/Horde wins in .." line, announce it in chat
Same for the "We need .. bases to win"
Time left and bases needed will be meaningfull onoy when at least one base has been taken by horde or ally
Besides each contested nodes you will see the time left to cap.

Warsong Gulch
Shows 2 big button with carrier's names. Click to target, shift-click to announce.
Extending the window (click on the >> button) discovers some more button. They work with the left-click ask for help, right-click announce safe rule.

Alterac Valley
Objectives' names works with the left-click ask for help, right-click announce safe rule.
Besides each contested nodes you will see the time left to cap. Clicking on time will announce it in chat.

Common feature:
Extimated resurrection timer. I need some feedback on this one, cause it looks like the interval is not exactly 30 seconds.. or maybe some lag is involved.. I hadnt time to figure the right timer, so I use a 30 seconds cyclle starting from your first resurrection inside a BG

Planned feature:
Syncronization: make things so when you join a bg, you can get timers from other users of my mod. Basic code is already in, i just need to test it a bit more
  Change Log - AlarBGHelper
3.4.2

Fixed: Randomly appearing message: ..\AddOns\AlarBGHelper\AlarBGHelper.lua line 1649: attempt to index local 'obj' (a nil value)

3.4.1

Fix: Found a little bug in the way AceDB-2.0 retrieve the addon name from the file path. If your path is too deep, it fails.
Guess it? The layout I choosed for my library WAS too deep
If you experienced: config not saved or addon loading but not working, this fix is for you.

3.4.0

Feature: Beta - In Warsong Gulch, show timers for carrier trackability and debuff. Timer are "approssimatives" because Blizzard itself says "about 10 minutes". Besides that.. testing it is awful.. I am waiting for some feedback from you.
Feature: timer bar for trackability when you are the flag carrier
Feature: You automatically announce when you are on enemy carrier (should not be spammy, check it)
Fix: Resolves Message: AlarLib-2.0-68657 (AlarBGHelper):2714: bad argument #1 to 'SetFormattedText' (string expected, got nil). At last! This bug was showing up only for horde.. and I don't play horde, so it was a bit hard to find it ;-)
Fix: Sometimes, when using an embedded copy of AlarLib, db didn't initialize and ABH was not loaded

3.3.8

Fix: Resolves Message: ...Auc-Advanced\Modules\Auc-Util-Appraiser\AprFrame.lua line 1198:
attempt to call global 'message' (a string value)

3.3.7

Feature: slightly improved miniframes look
Feature: WoW 2.4 compatible

3.3.6
Fix: Removes some random error messages

3.3.5
Fix: Arathi Basin prediction was always showing Alliance victory conditions (non english versions only)
Fix: Warsong gulch customization now fully works

3.3.4

Feature: AutoRelease flag is now separed for each BG

3.3.3

Feature: EOS now calculates flag taking rate, i.e. need n flag every second to win
Fixed: Frostwolf timers now work for german version too.
Fault was Blizzard, which for some esotic reason decided to call the towers sometimes ...liche , sometimes ...licher.
I will ask cknight to fix GloryLibg, meanwhile the workaround is inside AlarBGHelper

3.3.2

Fixed: \AlarLib-2.0\AlarLib-2.0.lua:4689: bad argument #1 to 'pairs' (table expected, got nil)
This bug affects only NEW installation of the addon. If you didnt experienced this error, you dont need to upgrade

Fixed: On screen messages in AV now works for deDE locale, too

3.3.1

Fixed: AV window doesnt autoresize anymore on system messages
Fixed: If you installed ABH really long time ago, you had some garbage in
your saved data. Now it is removed on first use. If ABH was more than 1M for you, that is your case.
Now ABH should never use more then 350-370K
Feature: Timer bars have now icons

3.2.2

Feature: Holding down alt while you see the enter/hide popup for a battlefield,
allow you to leave instead of hide when clickin on the hide button (which
changes to "Leave queue" when alt is hold)
Fix: There was a missing externals, so wowace was not upgrading files.
You should see ABH again in wowaceupdater list

3.2.1

Fixed: Battlegroup scan sometimes stopped to work
Feature: /abh show, when inside a battleground, resize the window to it's standard height

3.2.0

Feature: You can automatically thanks people who heals you in battlegrounds. Antispam included (no more than 1 thanks every 4 minutes to the same one)
Feature: Localization done. Now I need translators
Feature: Eye of the Storm result prediction improved
Feature: You can now hide Honor marks recap in Fubar text
Feature: You can customize text buttons and messages in WSG (/abh gui)

3.1.1

Fixed: ..\AddOns\AlarBGHelper\AlarBGHelper.lua line 1826: table index is nil and other localization related errors

3.1.0

Feature: AV Boss status is back as EXPERIMENTAL. Enable SYNC to test it
Feature: Revamped panels. More intuitive and less invasive move/resize interface

3.0.2a

Feature: You can now disable showing bg related messages on scree
Feature: Honor marks name localized to french

3.0.2

Fix: Health scan disabled in AV. Not useful
Feature: /abh cleancache to delete pg cache and free memory

Last version always at http://wow.aspide.it
3.0
  • Feature: Updated to WoW 2.3
  • Feature: WSG panel is shrinkable (via config menu)
  • Feature: EoS winner prediction is in
  • Feature: Tracks enemies health scanning your raidmates' target. Should not lag, but you can disable it

2.9.1
  • Fix: AceDb-2.0 stack overflow solved. Yes, you can use Recount AND this addonour mileage.

2.9
  • Feature: Life spam is back: you can enable it so when you are guarding a base and your life goes under a configurable level, you ask for help automagically.
  • Feature: /abh marks can show banked Honor Marks, too
  • Feature: WSG messages contains info about carrier health, if available.
  • Fix: Titan and Fubar support should fully work now. Let me know your mileage.

2.8.1 AlarLib upgraded
Fixed an incomptibility with LibRockConfig.
Now you can use /rock to configure (Tsunami, this fixes your problem)

2.8.1
GOT IT!

I checked everything and found an error in the order embedded libraries were loaded.
If you had all the needed libraries as standalone addon (like on my PC) it worked anyway, otherwiae not.
I phisically deleted my addon directory, installed alarbghelper as the one and the only and found those errors.

I apologize and hope you can find this mod being at last useful for you

Alterac Valley: Spam all timers button is back.
Fixed some minor bugs

2.7
Ok, conversion wasnt really working.
Rewritten almost fromn scratch.
Should be faster, but a little less feature rich
Let me know your mileage

2.6
Converted to ACE2

2.5.5
TOC Updated

2.5.4
All panels: big ? for quick help (just hover on it)
New Features: Synchronization is in, and should work. You can start unabling it
Bugfix: sometimes, AB panel was unmovable due to a lua error. Fixed
Bugfix: a little incompatibility with ACE2 was fixed

2.5.3
Bug fix: Targeting Vanndar/Drek no longer spams messages
New features: shortened messages in AV

2.5.2
NOTE:
All panels are (and always have been) movable. Now I shol a tooltip with "Click and drag to move" when
you are hovering on an anchor of the panel.

2.5.1
New features:
AV: Nodes' list is now ordered north to south and not in the clumsy order Blizzy lists them
All bg: if you are soulstoned, you are not autoreleased
All bg: you can enable autoselect for battlefield queue. It joins you or your whole group
ATTENTION: As of now, if you are on Alterac Valley sign screen, all your grouo is individually joined, i.e. all of
you are joined but you are not guaranteed to enter the same istance of AV (tested).
SO I think this is not an exploit (and shouldnt, because I use a documented feature of JoinBattlefield() API
If you have quickgossip from AlarAutomation enabled, you can join a bg only right clicking on the battlemaster.
All other selections are managed by addon

Bugfix:
AV: targeting Drek or Vanndar no longer gives an error with sync enabled
AV: all turnins should now work as intended

2.5.0a
Bugfix: Error while targeting Drek or Vanndar

2.5.0
New Feature
All BG
If you are a hunter or a druid in cat form and use your tracking ability, tooltips are colorized by faction and class race is shown

Alterac Valley
Auto turnin for quests
Windows revamped and shrinked
Button to announce all timers at once
Button to annouhce bosses' status
Sinchro: if a user of this mod is on bosses, you are informed on the status of them

Warsong Gulch
When you are the carrier, you can announce where are you leaving from
When you announce the carrier name, class and race is shown

Arathi Basin
Middle clicking on a base announce "Massive inc"

2.4.0
New feature: Autorelease (disabled by default, use /abh config)
New Feature: AB Timer spammable
New feature: Cap spam now includes faction capping

2.3.1
New feature: the resurrection timer is now configurable
New feature: the commander's panel in AV are fully hiddable
Bugfix: polished some routines

2.3.0
Returned feature: Targeting carrier button in Warsong Gulch is back!
It almost works like before the patch. If you are in combat while the carrier changes, you will still target the old carrier on click until you go out of combat, when the addon can safely change the button onclick event.
New feature: clicking the Ressing in.. label resets the counter
Bugfix: Extimated bases needed to win should now work for both horde and alliance

2.2.1
BLOCKED_ADDON spam fixed!

All in all it's a great mod, but could use a little polishing.
/abh gui is yoir friend.
A lot of things can be tweaked there.

Layout: I agree. I am considering an interface rewrite, but alas, I am a programmer.. and I suck at designing interfaces

Never managed to reproduce this error on my PC. I wonder if it could be something showing up only for horde people (you avatar suggests you playing horde).
Could you please help me a bit?
Does this happens all time sand every bg? Or it's battlegfround specific?
Node's descriptions are dinamically taken from wow engine, and I noticed it sometimes lags behind. Does it happen when you have a bad ping?
I will try and put a check to avoid the error message, but i'd like to know what happens instead of just "hiding" it.

I'm a great fan of AlarBGHelper but I think I've found some rather worrying bug in 3.3.5:
It's blowing up my SV file AlarBGHelper.lua to the magnitude of several mb's. (20mb+)
I've nuked the entire file but it began happening again. The content of the SV begins normal but then it appears that it's including other frame's data into the alar positioning info:
PHP Code:
(snipeverything looking normal up to here)
