Synopsis
Lootster is a loot rolling interface that allows you to call for and capture loot roll, arbitrate ties and announce winner(s). In addition to managing simple rolls, it also manges various DKP styles, including the ability to automatically record points credited for attendance and debited for loot. For more information see the FAQ that is at the end of ##readme.htm## in the Lootster download.

Numerous option settings to control the various loot systems.
There are important caveats with the use of Lootster 3.0.0 only if you want to revert back to the previous version of Lootster 2.x.x:
The data structures have changed significantly in Lootster 3.0.0 from those in Lootster 2.x.x. Lootster 3.0.0 will not be able to snoop roll calls or synchronise data from Lootster 2.x.x, and visa versa;
The data structures have changed significantly in Lootster 3.0.0 from those in Lootster 2.x.x. Lootster 3.0.0 will upgrade all saved data structures when loading the addon for the first time. However, once those data structures are upgraded, Lootster 2.x.x will not work. Follow these backup and restore instructions depending on paranoia:
Before installing Lootster 3.0.0 for the first time, make a copy of the Lootster.lua file found in the <WoW Directory>\WTF\Account\<account>\SavedVariables directory, calling it Lootster-2.lua;
Install Lootster 3.0.0, and start WoW. There will now be two versions of your Lootster saved variable file, being Lootster.lua for 3.0.0, and Lootster-2.lua for Lootster 2.x.x;
To install Lootster 2.x.x again, rename the Lootster 3.0.0 Lootster.lua to Lootster-3.lua. Then rename the Lootster-2.lua file to Lootster.lua;
To install Lootster 3.0.0 again, rename the Lootster 2.x.x Lootster.lua file to Lootster-2.lua. Then rename the Lootster-3.lua file to Lootster.lua;
If you wish to use an updated saved variable file from Lootster 2.x.x in Lootster 3.0.0, start at step one again. Note you will need to delete the existing Lootster-3.lua file.
Bug Reporting
Please use a good error catcher like Bugsack, and provide the entire error text with as much information on how to recreate the problem. Report the problem via the CurseForge ticket system to ease tracking.
Slash Commands
/ls - toggle display of Lootster window
/ls resetui - reset the position of all Lootster windows
Language Support
Although basic roll capture will work in French and German, the additional abilities (loot capture) will not. If you would like to contribute a translation for this addon, let me know via private message on this site. You will be given credit for the translation.
Installation
Unzip into <WoW Directory>\Interface\Addons.
User Interface
The user interface is used to perform all functions, and call be toggled (shown/hidden) through three methods:
Using the command line via the /lootster or /ls command;
Using the minimap button that can be used to toggle the user interface;
Using the small Lootster frame that can be used to toggle the user interface.
To reset the various frame positions if they are dragged offscreen, use the command line /ls resetui to reset their positions.
The user interface can be moved anywhere on the screen via dragging the Lootster box. If the minimap button is not used, then the small frame will be shown, and visa versa.

Known Issues
Boss detection on complex/multi-boss fights might be incomplete. Think Sartharion+Drakes, The Four Horseman or Assembly of Iron. There may also be misentered boss details. Please report these so they can be corrected.
Future Versions
No updates are planned at this time.
Hmm these are much more complicated. I will put a fix in quickly since there is a LUA error which is badness. However the logic needs to be reworked.
The essence of what it is trying to do is handle the multiple usage roll situations, being 100/1000 in simple rolling or the various same-call usage rolls in DKP rolling.
It is attempting to punch out something like:
<restricted classes> roll <any roll type>, others please roll <only greed types> on [item]
That is, if it is restricted to Warriors, Warriors can roll need or greed. All other classes by definition can only roll greed-type rolls since by definition they cannot 'need' the item (it is restricted to Warriors).
I need to rework the logic and text to better reflect this. Thanks for the catch!
Found 1 more definite bug and 1 more possible one.
First, if lootster is in 100/1000 mode or Usage Mode and you call for a roll on an item with class restrictions you will get a bug about string.format on line 17987 missing the third variable. I believe the problem is that line 17939:
The second bug I am not sure about because I am not sure what the actual intended function of 100/1000 rolling is. Currently, if you call for a roll on loot with class restrictions in 100/1000 mode the line will look like this:
"Warriors, Shaman, and Rogues only rolling Greed, and others please roll for Need (/100) or Greed (/1000) on [item]"
I believe line 17930 should be:
Code:
elseif (Lootster_NBG_Usage ~= LOOTSTER_ENUM_USAGE.NA) and (Lootster_NBG ~= LOOTSTER_NBG_1001000) then
so the output looks like:
"Warriors, Shaman, and Rogues roll for Need (/100) or Greed (/1000) on [item]"
Thank you again Sorian, that is a verfied fix. I will open a ticket on Curse Gaming for it. Note I changed the line number to reflect the original source code.
Originally posted by Sorian In 3.0 100/1000 rolling is not working. People that roll 1-1000 are getting a message that their roll is out of range. I believe the problem is line 17804. It should be something like:
elseif ((Lootster_NBG ~= LOOTSTER_NBG_1001000) and (maxRoll ~= rngRoll)) then
otherwise the 1-1000 rolls will be caught by this line and not counted.
Yikes. Thanks will take a look.
EDIT: Verified fix. The fix will be coming in a couple of days to reduce fix churn after initial release. I have created a ticket for the problem on Curse Gaming.

Originally posted by Superhawk Hey there. My raid group has started using the AddOn, but the box for the custom loot rules doesn't seem to work. Am I missing something or is there just something wrong with the custom rules box?
I may have seen this too, (if it's the same thing).
If the rules text box is empty, it needs to be clicked in order to get the text cursor. But clicking in the middle of the big text box doesn't work.
You have to click in the upper left corner. Right where you would expect the cursor to appear. And it appears.

Hmm that stuff hasn't changed for a while, but I will do some testing when I can. Somethings to note off the top of my head that could be happening:
You have to be in a party/raid, otherwise the rules display will be ignored. You can test it outside of a party/raid by switching on the debugging message option under General options on the Options tab. It will then pretend to send it to the say channel; or
Your Lootster is not Active. That is, you haven't checked the box on the Roll tab that says 'Active'. Checking Active makes you the driver of Lootster and allows you to broadcast rules, roll calls etc.

Hey guys. Yes the raid warning annoucement has been asked for elsewhere, and I will be looking to squeeze that into the version I am working on now.
As for the main spec/off spec ability, I have been asked for that in different guise and am looking to put it in, though I m not sure about the release I am currently working on (which is adding EPGP and DKP events). However, I can give you a heads up on what I am looking at doing: basically, you would roll for main/off/alt/greed etc in a single roll, similar to the 100/1000 rolls now for non-DKP stuff.
I really love this addon, but I have a question here.
Is there any way to change 'need' and 'greed' button to 'main spec' and 'off spec'?
I'm a raid leader for my guild and we roll for main spec and off spec, so if there is any way to change the text of the button, please teach me how to change. But I understand if you don't allow to edit your addon
This is Zedd, the creator of WebDKP. I don't have any problems with you integrating with WebDKP - and I can gladly give you all the information on the file format. I do plan on releasing the website to the public domain, so I don't have any problems with releasing info on the source.
