ErrorMonster   Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
ErrorMonster is a small addon to block a few standard action errors from printing. Please note that it does not block the "Error Speech" that comes with them - you have to disable that in Sound Options.

It was originally based on RogueSpam, but has since evolved drastically lately after people asked me to add some stuff to it.

Not only does it come with a significant set of default filters, you can of course add and remove filters at will. Filtering does not necessarily mean that the errors are eaten; they can also be redirected to a sink, such as ChatFrame1-7, BigWigs, SCT (+Message), MSBT or Blizzards own FCT, of course, since I implemented sinks, I had to implement general error throttling as well.

You can tell it to also aggro on system and information messages, like quest updates ("1/5 wild boars slain!"), and flush those out the sink as well. And it features a berserk option that will unconditionally flush anything down the sink.

seem broken! there is no configuration option in the interface menu and errormonster is not listed there! but its checked and active in the addons option in the character selection screen.

errormonster minimap icon is visible but no option as well, and if i join grps, or so it still spam on my chat frame about the errors

@Kuzah Well judging that the .toc files doesn't list Ace3 I don't think it's that.

You configure Errormonster by going ESC->Interface->Addons tab->Errormonster

C'mon people it's been there for months now

PS Have personally used that dialog box almost every day for months. Everytime something goes wrong and i need to redirect the error output to the chat frame to figure out how retarded i'm being

I haven't tried this myself yet, but browsing the comments on Cursed people have mentioned that you need to download Ace 3 as well.

How to configure
Are there directions on how to configure this? Something simple like typing "/errormonster config"? I can't even tell if it is active. There is no button and while it is in the list of addons at the choose realm screen it does not show up in the list of addons in the interface section from within the game.

Help would really be appreciated.

Exclamation Errors Noticed on 10/15/2008
Errors Noticed

I had greater blessing of kings applied, and tried to apply a 10 minute kings on myself. I know the 10 minute one won't overide the 30 minute one just pointing out the huge error that came up.

problem with update changes-54514
I just updated and it will no longer redirect to any other chat frame than to general. I had it set up to send messages to a dedicated frame on the side but it cant do this anymore. This seems to be a design change as the /command is now different. The version I am using (just one step older Ithink) uses /errormonster sink **** to sink messages (in my case chatframe4), the new one uses /errormonster output **** instead. The command /errormonster output chatframe4 is invalid.

Other then that breaking with the new version, great mod.

I love the option to redirect to SCT/Parrot. The ability to throttle errors is also fantastic. ErrorMonster would be truly awesome as an error spam filter AND an error display tool, fi it could completely suppress one set of errors, and redirect another another set of errors!

For instance, I'd like to output certain errors that are useful to me through SCT, while suppressing the rest. Currently this is not possible. Errors on the ErrorMonster "list" are redirected, while all other errors continue to spam blizzard's default error frame -- which is what we want to avoid in the first place.

This addon is very awesome as it is. Adding this extra functionality -- say two lists, one for suppressed errors and one for those we wish to redirect -- would make it perfect!

What you say about Ace2 is true, you have to get the TBC branch of Ace2 from either the SVN or http://wowace.com/files/Ace2/
