For more information, including planned features, advanced configuration options, and a list of companion addons, please see the PhanxChat extra info page on my portal.
Localization
PhanxChat currently has translations for English (enUS/enGB), Simplified Chinese (zhCN), and Traditional Chinese (zhTW).
If no translations exist for your locale, PhanxChat will default to English, but some locale-dependent features may not work completely (like short channel names) or work in undesirable ways (like short chat strings using English abbreviations that might not make sense for your language).
If you are interested in helping to translate PhanxChat for French, German, Korean, Russian, or Spanish locales, please send me a PM.
Known Issues
Tell-target commands do not update the chat edit box to reflect the target of your message.
Requesting Features
Use the Feature Request tracker to suggest features you would like to see in PhanxChat. Keep in mind that I intend to keep this addon limited to simple, uncluttered chat frame modifications. Also, please take a look at the list of declined features before posting a feature request.
Reporting Bugs
Use the bug report tracker! Before reporting a bug, please make sure it is not on the list of known issues (above), and then: (1) Make sure you have the latest version of PhanxChat. (2) If the problem persists, try deleting the PhanxChat saved variables. If this solves the problem, try recreating your configuration; if the problem reappears, please tell me which settings you changed from the defaults that caused the problem. (3) If the problem persists, try logging in with PhanxChat enabled and all other addons disabled and see if the error still occurs; if it does not occur, it's being caused by a conflict with another addon, and you will need to enable your other addons one by one to find out which addon is causing the conflict. (ACP or OptionHouse make it easy to enable/disable addons in-game.)
After you've verified that you're up-to-date and the problem is not caused by a conflict with another addon (or you've identified the conflicting addon), please post: (1) the exact text of any error messages you get (I recommend using !BugGrabber + BugSack to capturing errors for easy copy-and-paste), (2) a detailed description (or link to a screenshot) of any graphical errors you're seeing, (3) which other addon (if any) is triggering the error, (4) what you were doing when the error occured, (5) whether or not the error occurs every time you perform that action, (6) which settings (if any) you have changed from the default configuration, and (7) what locale you are playing WoW in.
PhanxChat has no code that affects chat frame dimensions or positions. Either you have another addon interfering, or your game client is unable to write that information to the LayoutCache.txt file (in WTF\<YourAccount>\<YourServer>\<YourCharacter>\) which normally stores the dimensions and positions for Blizzard UI frames. Check that the file is not read-only, or simply delete it while WoW is not running (note that this will likely reset the positions of some other frames as well). Either way, it's not caused by PhanxChat, and not something I can add/change code to deal with.
Tried to kinda skim the responses here and didn't see anything yet so hopefully somebody knows. Every time I log out and back in the chat window anchor seems to default to 0,0; the expanded size resets and I have to redo it every time? Is there a location in the LUA file I can just edit the chat window size and loc? Or if there is an easier way I'm all for it.
Uploaded 3.0.1. Tell-target commands are once again functional, although they will not currently change the edit box to show the target's name once you hit the Space key. Typing "/tt" or "/wt" followed by a message and pressing Enter will send the message to your current target. The old method hooked a secure function and incurred too high a performance cost. If I can find another, cheaper, way to dynamically update the displayed message recipient, you may see this behavior added back in the future.
I can't seem to get /tt or /wt to work, has it changed functionality in a recent update?
I used to able to target someone and just do a "/tt " and the chat box would switch to whispering the target (pinky/purply whisper text) as soon as i hit space.
TotemTimers had the same /tt command which i changed, but didn't affect phanxchat's /tt<space> command.
If you need anymore info, just tell me and i'll get it to you.
Just wanted to mention a very minor issue in the latest version of Phanxchat... the message about being a beta version is still there. I removed it for my own uses but just thought you'd want a reminder. Phanxchat is working great btw... Thanks!

First, I don't owe you anything, and second, you don't know a thing, so don't presume to tell me about myself.
As a general rule posting "something doesn't work" is worse than posting nothing at all; if you cannot or will not provide the information I ask for, it's quite possible I will be unable to fix or even reproduce the problem you vaguely describe. It's frustrating for users, and it's frustrating for me, and I'm just not going to waste my time with it anymore. Nobody's life hangs in the balance over a WoW addon error; if you don't have time to post useful information right now, just wait until you do.
You don't need to be rude. Seriously. I read about the bug tracker. I didn't have the time go isolate the problem to just Phanx last night. You posted several rules for people to do before they post on the bug tracker. I didn't have time to do it when I posted last night. So, out of respect for YOUR wishes I didn't post on the bug tracker. I was coming by to see if anyone replied yet before I went through all YOUR step before I posted on the bug tracker. I decided to post last night, before I ran the tests, to see if anyone else was having the issues before I did all the tests.
If you want help troubleshooting your mod you don't need to be rude about it. Your assumption about being to lazy to read the post is wrong and a poor assumption. If you had, dare I say, not been so lazy and jumped to conclusions you would find posts by me around this web site on the bug trackers and off.
That being said, I will go with: You are having a bad night. Because I do love the add-on and it rocks I will run the test and either report here that the problem is another Add-On or fill out a bug report to your spec.

Use the bug report tracker! Seriously, I'm just going to stop addressing any and all specific bugs / feature requests posted in comments. If you're too lazy to read the addon description where it links to the bug and feature trackers, I'm going to be too lazy to fix your problem.
@Kyron:
Yes, that line you posted will generally right-align the text in any chat frame. However, the problem arises when you start seeing item or other links in the chat. The clickable regions are still placed where they would be if the text were left-aligned, which means that the visible link text is (generally) not clickable, and some random other area will be clickable instead. It is possible to fix this with the addition of more code, but it's code that I feel is 100% pointless and a waste of CPU cycles, when there is nothing functionally or usably lacking about left-aligned text. PhanxChat is not a "make things look pretty" addon and never will be.
See my response to the above poster for my response to your bug report. I even said in my first response to you to use the bug tracker.
@m0rgoth:
For the short /who query, just give me some examples of how short /who queries look in French. For example:
Specifically I need to see with and without guild names, and with both one-word and two-word race names (if any races are two words in French). I can build the Lua pattern from there.
Howdy -
I am not sure if was the most recent version, but I used to be able to do a "/tt " to send a tell to my target. Now it isn't working. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks for your time and this mod.

Originally posted by Phanx The repack was uploaded to remove the French translation, which was generating errors, and was not intended to be included yet anyway, as the translator who sent it to me never finished his work and sent me the rest of it. What about channel notice suppression needs to be "fixed" ? With the option enabled, "X joined" and "Z left" messages are suppressed; this is the intended behavior. If you can be more specific about the problem, please post a ticket in the bug rerport tracker.
For every options, like for example /pchat tabs, type it one will enable, type it twice will disable and so on.
But for /pchat suppress channels no matter how many time i type it, it keep staying disabled.
Edit: About text justification, do you have any very small and simple addon doing it to suggest ?
Edit2: Nvm justification, adding this
