I often miss guild and party messages popping up on my screen since they don't make a sound. I figured I'd make a mod to solve the problem. 
|
- Can play new sounds for Guild, Officer, Party, Raid, Raid Leader,
Battlegrounds, Battlegrounds Leader, Custom Channel Messages and Whispers. - Force Whisper sounds for every whisper.
- Allows users to /r after sending a whisper without getting a reply.
- *new* Allows blacklisting of specific custom channels.
Useful if an addon is joining a custom channel and spamming messages. - Options frame is accessible through the comic bubble icon menu next to the Chat Frame,
or by typing /chatsounds. - Saves its settings per character.

Chatsounds not working
Recently with 4.0 Chatsounds will not work unless I turn my game sound up to hear the alerts from Chatsounds which never had to be done in the past. I'd just like to know if this is an addon issue that's being currently worked around or if it's a game issue. Note: I've turned all addons off to try to get Chatsounds to work without having to turn up the in-game sounds.

After a while using chatsounds its just amazingly awsome! No need to change volume like I asked once.
I hope you keep updating it with patches. The beta Cataclysm version works on patch 4.0.1, but still shows as out of date addon, just so you know. Thanks again! This is one of my must have addons that changes my gameplay experience completly! Very well job! |

love your addon, very helpfull specially when im afk and able to hear if i get pst or guild chats, etc... however, sadly to say it does not work for 4.0.1, any possible way to update this pls...

ChatSounds 0.3.9 is compatible with Cataclysm beta build 12857.
Just 'load out of date addons'.

You could run the custom sounds (the ones included in the addon folder) through a sound editor to adjust their volume. (Free, with no installation footprint you could use are - for example - Audacity: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ Wavosaur: http://www.wavosaur.com/) If you go that way back up your modified soundfiles so they don't get overwritten from a potential addon update. Bear in mind that ChatSounds also uses some game sounds which you cannot modify in an easy way, Overall I don't think it's worth your trouble. |

Is this addon able to assign sounds to special words or phrases if they pop up in chat? I sometimes sit hours in dalaran trying to find a raid group (trade chat and guild chat), so it would be awesome if it would make a sound if anyone says "ony 25" in chat, so I dont need to watch the game closely all the time.
