ArkInventory (AI or ARKINV) is an inventory mod that was based off EngInventory when the BtS 2.0.0 patch came out and I needed a working replacement.
AI's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
AI uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
* unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
* assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
* assign categories to the bar of your choice
* configurable bars per row
* configurable width
* display bank, bag, keyrings for current and alts across all realms
* separate keybindings for bag, keyring and bank viewing
* /arkinv gui reset (puts the windows back in the centre of the screen)
* /arkinv db reset confirm (resets all user options back to defaults)
* /arkinv cache erase confirm (erases all cached data - not options)
Key Bindings:
Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
click on Key Bindings
scroll down to ArkInventory

Sorry, there are currently no optional files available.
Originally posted by dubcity566 One other thing that seems to happen when I try to hide a category is that the mod seems to think they are in a negative bar. For example, if I go to hide Class > Druid items, and then go to "Move CLASS > DRUID to Bar", it lists them being in bar -2 instead of bar 2, with the moveable slider all the way down at the bottom instead of up at 2.
this will be fixed in the next version.

Hrm, I tried this, and it seems like it should work, but it didn't. I tried to hide other categories in my various bars and also failed. Under the Currently Assigned menu, the "Hide" button checks, and the category is listed in red, but the items, or empty slots, are not hidden. I'm not sure if this is some sort of bug or I'm just doing something wrong though. I've tried going between edit mode and normal mode, hitting the reload and refresh buttons, opening and closing my bags, and reloading my UI. Regardless, the menu seems to think that the categories are being hidden, but the items are still visible.

Originally posted by Jzar Heh, that was the first thing I did, too. Add Empty > Empty (Bag) to a group, then click the group again, and under "Currently Assigned", click Empty > Empty (Bag) > Hide.

Thanks for the mod

This mod is superb, but I am also getting error overflows specifically when I open my bank. I get over 200 errors which makes the memory usage rise. After that all my game windows freeze, which doesn't allow me to type anything. I have to then /logout which crashes my game. If anyone has a fix let me know thanks .
Window position is being reset every time I log. I have the anchor point on mine set to top right, and every time I log on, it's set clear to the very top right corner of the screen.
I'm having a problem with the frame level, too. I see below where you explain how to disable the warning, which will make it less annoying, but can you fix the bug itself? This (almost?) never happened before the last update or two. Do you know what's actually causing it to behave so finnicky lately?
I am having an overflow problem with Ark, sometimes when I open my bank buggrabber says that it captured more than 20 errors in a second and my framerate goes way down. Then I cant open a chat input box to reload my ui, so I have to just alt+f4 and restart. I am not sure where to get buggrabbers logs from, or I would post them.

i looked at this when i added the ability to change the font and decided it was too hard to do at the time and dropped it in the "too hard" basket. it's still on my list of things to do but i'm not sure how i can code it yet.

Thank you for your time and hard work. I know I appreciate it, as this is one of my favorite addons.
I'm having issues with the 'bugfix' for frame height.
When I have all my healer bars & stuff up on screen, if the bag is over the bars it needs to be at frame height 140ish to be visible, but this triggers the bugfix, which pushes it under half the bars again until I click, when it pops up briefly, then bugfixes. If I disable the bugfix then the inventory buttons appear behind the base frame so cant be clicked at all.
Is it possible to fix this so the fudgy reset the frame level doesnt behave quite so evilly?
Anyway, apart from that, its by far the best inventory mod Ive tried, so good job
