I am intentionally leaving this addon out of date for the launch of 2.3. While it will still likely function to some extent—I.e. if you're still having problems, this should still work as an out-of-date-addon—I'm hopeful that the need for it will be diminished. Blizzard has implemented a number of changes to the default UI to prevent the situations that caused the problems in the first place.

If you continue to have taint problems, please report them in this thread on the UI & Macros forum. I will keep an eye on that and update this mod for any issues that may arise.

This is a simple mod that works around taint issues which prevent certain unit frames & the pet bar from showing during combat. It currently works for the following frames:
  • Target
  • Target of Target
  • Pet
  • Pet action bar (including Mind Control)
  • Party members & their pets

This is related to the flashing you see when you have yourself targeted. The problem is a race condition between the default UI which is trying to manually hide the TargetofTargetFrame when your target's target is dead and ReappearingUnitFrames which tries to show the ToT frame whenever the unit exists (which includes dead units).

I think I could work out a fix but it would require much more complicated logic than I have now and it still wouldn't allow for the case when you're targeting yourself. Unfortunately I have other obligations that will be preventing me from working too hard on my addons for the next month at least. However, you can easily disable the TargetofTarget functionality of this addon. Check out the comments on the curse.com page for it. I describe what parts of the code you can comment out. It's actually very simple... If I remember correctly the code itself is less than 20 lines.

Unhappy Slight problem with the addon...
This addon does exactly what I need, but it has a slight bug with it. When I left click on a player, about 50% of the time, their list of buffs will flash oddly and I'll see flashes of a nearby NPC or other player's healthbar, claiming that NPC/PC is dead, even if they're not. It does it with about 50% of the players I click on, and just continues to flash like crazy.

Any ideas?

I have a special problem. I know this addon is designed for classes with pets like Hunters and Locks, so I'm not sure it will do what I need.

On certain pulls in certain instances it becomes not quite necessary but helpful that I mind-control a healer class mob and use it to heal my party. This occurs in such fights as the pulls before Blackheart the Inciter in Shadow Labs. Sometimes Actually, in fact, more often than not) the pet bar of the Mind Controlled mob does not show up. I have to drop the mob and hope for some CC or try to hold it until I can't risk not healing my tank anymore. I know that there are other ways to do these pulls but this should be a viable option. Will this addon fix the MC problem?

Very needed mod but I'm having an unexpected side-effect by using it.

Specifically with this addon enabled the "Hide party frames in raid" setting in the default interface options no longer takes effect.

The party frames remain shown regardless what setting I have chosen.
A minor inconvenience but it spoils the uniform appearance of raidframes.

Warlock 'pet' bar?
Great mod. It solved the disappearing Party frame issue for me. Thank you.

I did notice though that my Warlock's pet bar still goes away at times. I did not know if this was a known issue or not but I thought I would mention it.

If you need more information to chase down the Warlock issue please let me know. Thanks again for your efforts.
