LightHeaded is a very simple addon that displays quest information and comments from http://www.wowhead.com in game, eliminating the need to Alt-Tab when you get stuck on quest. This addon was inspired by qcomments and wowhead_quests, which both serve a similar purpose. Data is only loaded when you first request it, so you can be sure you're not using more memory than you need to.
The addon I use to make my quest log wide, is called DoubleWide, and you can download it here at http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info6887-DoubleWide.html. LightHeaded should work with any quest log that uses QuestLogFrame.
I HIGHLY suggest using this addon with TomTom, another one of my addons (http://www.wowinterface.com/download...32-TomTom.html ). This allows you to simply click any coordinate in LightHeaded to add it to your map as a waypoint.
The following slash commands are valid:
/lh attach - Attaches the frame to the quest log
/lh detach - Detaches the frame, allows you to resize and move it
/lh sound - Toggles the open/close sound
/lh page - Toggles showing all comments on one page, or with multiple pages
/lh bgalpha <0.0-1.0> - Changes the alpha of the LH window background textures, so you can see the world.
/lh debug - Enables or disabled debug messages when loading quest databases
IMPORTANT: Addon authors that wish to use this API and data should
include the wowhead logo in the frame that displays this information.
They are kind enough to let me continue parsing their database, and we
owe them at least that much. Thank you.
The World of Warcraft 2.4 patch brings lots of API changes in particular to the combat log, but they also snuck in a nice change. You can now shift-click a quest in the quest log to send a link to another player. A side-effect of this is that the internal numeric quest ids that are used to identify each quest have been exposed.
This means I am now able to correlate quest data between wowhead.com and the game client, to display more accurate quest information. In addition, this instantly localized the addon so it works with any game client. The comments will still appear in English (as will the names in the Quest Series) section of the information, but I no longer need to distribute a large database for other locales.
When installing this version of the addon, please remove any prior versions of LightHeaded (and it's data addons) that you might have laying around. They are not needed in this version, and deleting them ensures you get the latest version of the addon.
There may be bugs as we work through these changes, so thank you in advance for reporting them to me so I can fix them as soon as possible.
* Fixed a bug that caused the wrong quest to be displayed after the frame was unhidden
* Changed the behavior of the close button to close the quest log instead of the frame
* If you are using a quest log other than the default, the behavior shoudl be unchanged
* Fixed an issue where the page would flip back to 1 due to other addons
* Fixed an issue where the close button wasn't clickable
* Fixed a bug that prevented you from clicking on the quest title to go back to page 1
* Fixed a bug that could occur when loading item tooltips
* Fixed two bugs with unknown quest names
* Fixed an issue where waypoints were being set without proper titles
* Fixed a bug due to stray calls to QuestLogTitleButton_OnClick
* Patch from Fin that enables /lh autodata, a slash command to toggle the automatic loading of quest data.
* This will make all quest series information show up with quest titles, when enabled.
Originally posted by Jerricka No, I can't click on coordinates or anything in blue until I reload the ui. Nothing happens, no arrows, no nothing. Sorry for the misunderstanding, I thought it was obvious =P
Can you reload the page when this happens, i.e. /lh page to fix it instead of a reload? This is actually an issue as I said that I'm aware of, but as far as I can tell I have no way to "Fix" it.

Originally posted by Cladhaire You are describing something entirely different, so you'll need to start from scratch. I have absolutely NO reported issues with the minimap or world map icons. I don't understand what you're saying.
What was being reported was an issue CLICKING on the links in LightHeaded. Again, this is NOT a bug I can fix.. but a nuance with Blizzard's widget systems in various scales. I've experienced it myself, and there's little to nothing that I can do about it.

Originally posted by Jerricka Actually, I've had this issue for awhile, even when disabling every addon except Lightheaded, Doublewide, and TomTom. The only 'fix' I've ever known is to reload the ui and the arrow pops up in main screen and on the minimap where they should be *shrug*.
Troubleshooting Results:
As disabling all addons except the aforesaid 3 still results in no waypoint arrows AND the fact that with all my usual addons running I can get the arrows to show with a simple reloadui, disabling/changing nothing...shows that there is no addon conflict possible.
Perhaps this could stand to be fixed

Originally posted by autobot I used lightheaded for some time now with tomtom and i love it but these past days i cant seem to click on the coordinate anymore or anything in blue. I tried del LH and then loading wow then reinstall LH and that would work but only until i would until i logged off wow and once i logged back on, it again wouldnt let me click on the coordinates, BUT it would work fine on another toon i have so i find this a bit strange. I dont have many addon just LH, tomtom, and UI. Ill try and disable the UI and see if that helps but the servers are down now.
I also tried to read the older post see if anyone had this prob too but to many post to go threw them all. Any suggestions?

EDIT: I just wanted to point you to a Wowhead WOTLK (wow 3.0) quest to provide as an example. Also note the site's url is a bit different than the live server (wow 2.4) url. Looks like you simply replace www in the url with wotlk. Not saying it's that easy for your mod to adapt, of course not, just as a reference for you.
Any chance to get a parsed version with WOTLK beta notes? (or simple instructions for me to do it myself? Pls)
I really really miss your addon for coord references etc in the beta.
Yeah, poor me right lol.
Anyway, ty all the same if it's too much trouble :P
That depends on whether those quests are available on the live wowhead site, and if the page format hasnb't changed much. I'll look into it.

You would need to change the code.

Originally posted by Dunnoyet I cannot dowload this or tomtom, tells me zip files are corrupt can you add them both to archives so i can download them from there please.
They are both there. There is an issue with your web browser, or the connection between your client and the server. I assure you the files are not corrupt.
