CopyThat!
Bind a key, and copy text from whatever your mouse is hovering over.

Chatframes, QuestText, Menus whatever.


You can also do:

/copythat <framename>

e.g.

/copythat ChatFrame1
  Optional Files - CopyThat!
Sorry, there are currently no optional files available.
  Comments - CopyThat!

CopyThat worked for me after I set its Key Bindings.

I found a very useful script:

/print GetMouseFocus():GetName()

it will correctly tell me the name of the frame i have mouse over (i.e. "QuestLogFrame" )

but when i tried /copythat GetMouseFocus():GetName(), it doesn't work it says CopyThat usage /ct blah blah. Any ideas will be nice cause i use lots of frames from different addons,

Im not sure to be honest. You can type /copythat ChatFrame1

Also, in Prat, there is CopyChat which adds a little button to each chat frame - thats if you run prat.

thx for tooltip copy keybinding

i try to copy chatframe text but i alway just "text" windows.

where i must mouseover for copy text of chatframe ?

yeah this addon is my dream but i can't copy chatframe ;(
Erreur : attempt to concatenate local 'name' (a nil value)
Fichier : Interface\AddOns\CopyThat\CopyThat.lua
Ligne : 41
Nombre : 1

i mouseover player name.

edit :

suggest : add a tooltip copy option and this addon will be perfect
