A World of Warcraft UI AddOn
By Felankor

NOTE: Your friends, guild, group and raid members DO NOT need this AddOn installed to be able to command you.

#############################
DESCRIPTION
#############################

Allows your friends, guild members, group and raid members to put you on Auto-Follow + more
(See features for a more detailed list).

Hate it when you're in a group and your phone rings or
someone knocks your door, then you find that when you
return your group has gone on without you and you have
to try and catch up?

Follow Felankor allows your friends, guild, group or raid members to
make you follow them. So that they don't leave you behind
if you go AFK.

Do you like to dual box? (I.e. play two characters at once). Follow Felankor allows you to make
your second character follow you or use its mount.

It also has some other useful features, and some fun ones.

#############################
FEATURES
#############################

The whole AddOn can be disabled from the options dialog. (Type /ff_options to view the options dialog)
Features 3 - 6 & 10 can be disabled through the options dialog. (Type /ff_options to view the option dialog)

1) Allows friends and group/raid/guild members to make you follow them.
2) Allows your friends and group/raid/guild members to make you mount and dismount.
3) Auto accepts resurrect from friends and group/raid/guild members.
4) Auto accepts group invites from friends and guild members.
5) Auto invites friends and guild members upon their request through a whisper command.
6) Allows your friends and guild members to make your character do emotes (e.g. wave, point, fart etc)
7) Allows you friends and group, raid and guild members to make you stand and sit.
8) Allows you to ban certain players from sending you whisper commands.
9) Option to automatically create a set of macros that send whisper commands to your targeted player.
10) Automatically announces to your group/raid when you go AFK; Telling them that they can make you follow them using the follow whisper command.

#############################
USING FOLLOW FELANKOR
#############################

NOTE: There is a full detailed list of slash commands and whisper commands in the READ ME file, or you can use the help commands in game (explained below).

You can type:

/ff_menu to display the Follow Felankor menu. (All interfaces are accessible from this menu)

Or

/ff_help to display the help dialog.

Or

"/ff_help command" for more help with each command. (E.g. /ff_help ff_options to get help for the /ff_options command)

Your friends, guild, group or raid can whisper or tell:

!ff_help for a list of whisper commands that they can use to command you.
!ff_help command (e.g. !ff_help ff_follow) for more help with each command.

#############################
DONATIONS
#############################

Any donations will be greatly appreciated.

What will your donations be used for?

1) If enough money is donated I will use it to pay for web hosting so that I am able to create a website for Follow Felankor and any other addons which I may decide to create in the future.
2) Any additional donations will then be put towards paying for my WoW subscription which I obviously need in order to develop and test the addons which I create.

I would like to take this opportunity to give a huge thank you to anybody who makes a donation. Your support is very much appreciated and I'm glad you like my addon(s).

Thank you!

1) FollowMe hasn't been updated in quite a long time
2) FollowMe only has one use: following someone or making someone follow, whereas FF has more that it can do.

The same friends that like to follow the leader (me in this case) also like that I can invite them when we are scheduled to play and they don't have to click on the accept button. Not a big deal, you would think, but I guess it works for them! I gotta say though, that I have thought more than a few times about going back to FollowMe just to get that one feature back!

Thank you.

As I am often waiting to proceed to the next destination until those that I know want to follow me have done so, I knew immediately when that happened with FollowMe but with FF I have to ask or otherwise confirm it.
If FF already has such an option, I'm sorry but I missed it.

Thank you!
FF doesn't have this feature at the moment but I will definitely think about adding it to the next version. Thank you for your suggestion. I always like to receive feedback as I think that the best addons are ones which have been developed to meet its users requests instead of just what the developer wants. If you don't mind I would like to ask you a question. You say that even though FF doesn't have this feature you have still chosen to use FF instead of FollowMe. I'm just curious as to what made you choose FF?

Thanks,

I have not taken any code from the fan update so any bugs that were fixed in that may or may not be fixed in my version (depending on if I knew about them). I use the addon myself quite often and I haven't seen that happen (or just haven't noticed if it has). Are you able to send me a screenshot of both screens when this happens please? (Either by uploading it to something like image shack or pm me and I'll give you an email address). Thanks for pointing it out to me.

I'm going to do a little poking around this weekend, I think there might be another addon that is auto declining group invites, I just built a new rig and updated to Curse 4 and Minion at teh same time and pulled some new addons down to boot. Wish there was a debug mode in WoW that would log all Addon actions and not just the bugs...
In other words, I was really tired when I posted last night and shouldn't have been operating any kind of machinery :P

Sorry that I don't upload updates very often. I have recently moved servers and had to start again from scratch. My main is now 72, I'm trying to get 80 asap. Once I've reached 80 I'm hoping to finish working on the next release and then I want to start releasing more regular updates.

Thank you to everyone who has given me feedback.

It is possible, but it's trying to work out the best way to do it. The idea is you can't accidently dismount while the toon is flying. I had a friend dismount me by mistake and my toon fell and died. I wanted to get it to check how high the toon is flying and only allow dismount if it's a safe distance from the ground. But I couldn't find a command that lets you check. I will look into this but not sure what the best method is yet.

Sorry but the AcceptTrade function is protected meaning only Blizzard are able to use it. So I am unable to add this feature. Thank you for your idea though.

Thank you for the ideas.

"I must land first."

Is there a way to make it so this safeguard can be toggled off? That would be awesome. Any ETA?

It should be possible to do that, however I want to try to make it as simple as possible to use. You may find it easy to put the selected mount in a macro, but there are many users that won't know what they are doing.

I was thinking something along the lines of:

/FF_UseGMount mount_name - (Sets which ground mount will be used)
/FF_UseFMount mount_name - (Sets which flying mount will be used)

!ff_rmount - (Uses a random ground mount, even if a static one has been set)
!ff_rfly - (Uses a random flying mount, even if a static one has been set)

The part I was unsure of is if I am able to detect when a mount is summoned in order to automaticaly use the last or most used mount.
