Please make sure that you read all of the release notes before installing this addon. It may also help to delete your existing SpartanUI directory before installing this one. There were many changes that went into the making of 2.5.2 and it would make our jobs easier if people were well informed before posting bugs.
At some point, you may have realized that within the myriad of mod, bag, button and raid windows... your viewing space is a little hole somewhere in the middle. And while there are other interface mods out there that will reduce your interface to nothing but a pinhole, you can’t help but wish there was an interface that just fit WoW in the first place. One that looked like it was made for the game from the get-go. Here is your answer.
Built from scratch, SpartanUI is built to free your screen; it is the new look for the World of Warcraft. Created by Ansu of Dalaran (a.k.a. Atriace), it is an original design, developed with painstaking effort.
Features:
A stand-alone mod (all original code)
Almost Zero-setup
Support for any screen-resolution
SpinCam™
Low CPU & RAM usage
High-res textures (1:1 ratio support for 30" displays)
Animated bars
Built-in XP & Rep statistics
Integrated Coordinates
Unit AFK status
Unit casting bars
Raid Icon support
Pet & Focus support
Built-in Buff system
Recent Changes (2.5.2):
SpartanUI is now being developed by both Ansu and Beladona
Bartender support has been rewritten so that it works better with profile creation and management. It will also automatically disable itself if you are not using Bratender4. This allows you to use any action bar replacement you choose without any errors or problems in SpartanUI. You can also now update Bartender4 with little to no fear of conflicts.
The bars enabled by default in Bartender4 are now 1-6. Previously we were skipping bar2. For this reason you may need to move some of your abilities around the first time that you update. It may also be important to do a /sui resetbars after updating.
Bartender backdrops are no longer anchored to the bars. They are instead anchored to the main spartan frame, making it easier to place action bars of your choosing. If you wish to hide these backdrops you may now do so with /sui backdrops
The minimap module has been completely rewritten, and should work a lot better. It now supports zooming with the mouse wheel. Achievement tracking has been moved so that it no longer appears off-screen. The scale and position of the minimap should now update if SpartanUI is scaled or moved.
Slash commands will now default to the help menu if no command is passed. It will also do this if a bad command was passed. This should help you identify what commands can be used more easily, especially for first time users.
Status bar code has been moved into a module, and rewritten for better performance. The tooltips have been updated and are now fully localized using whatever localization your wow client is using.
Known Issues (2.5.2):
Most of the changes provided by end-users in the forums have been rolled into this version, making those "fixes" no longer necessary. This includes the fixes to the runic bar, and the weapon buffs. The unitframe code is scheduled for some retooling in 2.5.3 though, so for now we may still have issues.
Automatic faction switching is something that was not added back in with the rewrite to the status bars. We do plan to include this in 2.5.3 along with some other nifty features for the status bars. Stay tuned.
While it is possible to disable bar backdrops with a slash command (/sui backdrops) there is not yet an easy slash command for disabling specific backdrops. This is a feature we do plan to add in 2.5.3

is there any way to turn off buffs on your frame but leave them on the target one? also is there a way to configure the minimap? i have sexy map but for example the spartan minimap has its own coords that id like to turn off.
also whats the left pop up window for? the right one is used for the talent, bags etc but theres nothin in the left one.
You need to be more specific about BT4 errors. You are the first person to mention something about "massive amounts of errors", and this version has been in beta testing for weeks now.
The SpartanUI minimap is not configurable. However you CAN install a separate minimap addon and have it handle your minimap instead if you wish. The SpartanUI minimap is merely the default minimap, tweaked to make it fit into the ui.
The left popup bar is where the stance and pet buttons go, if you have those. Obviously if you do not have stances or a pet, you will have nothing there. If you go into BT4 and unlock your bars, you will see the green layout markers for those bars...

We don't really support the addon via comments on the addon sites, as there are 5 locations this addon is being published. It is much easier to centralize support than to try to support all 5 locations. I would advise you to post any bugs you find there.

Originally posted by pyremo And i dont use the UI Scale so that box is unchecked
2.5.3 will aloow you to scale SpartanUI by itself without scaling the entire ui. This should alleviate your problem. If you really want to play with it before the support for it is in, you can try using this:
/run suiData.relScale = x
replace x with a value of your choosing. There is no logic currently in to prevent you from being stupid with this though, so be careful with it. A value of 1 makes it the same scale as the rest of your ui. Going higher and lower than that will have predictable results. Be careful when reaching 0.5 and lower though, as things may begin to get so small as to be unreadable.
Also, please post bugs and questions in the support forum on SpartanUI.com as we visit that site a lot more than we visit the 5 download locations SpartanUI currently lives on.
Says supports any screen res mines 1280x800(wide) and its 2 big on screen and there is no place to put my chatframe i tried /sui maxres made it smaller but still not enuf to put my chat frame in.
Originally posted by iLive I have noticed some minor bugs preventing SpartanUI showing debuffs.
I have installed this addon twice the first time it worked ok for a wile then every time you loged on you would have to set up the bars all over again. I went to WWW.spartinui.com watched the install video and there is no saved variabules folder to copy so I am back to my same old cluttered screan maybe one day I will find an addon that works!
It's an addon. It should not be any more then just text and texture files. No viruses or anything can be in it. You either downloaded the wrong thing or it was a false positive.
When mailing this to myself today 12/8/08 and trying to download it from my mailbox yahoo scanned this file with mcafee and stated there was a virus in the file and was unable to clean it.
This is likely a problem with wowinterface and not spartanui as I downloaded it from filefront(linked off the spartanui website), repeated the procedure, and the file came back clean.
can anyone derect me in editing some of the code for some miner tweaks. id l ike to make the clock font larger and move its position down a bit, and id also like my zone text to use a second line if needed instead of cutting out. thanx for any help
ill tell you my fix, but might not work for you. in the media folder i deleted Object_Buff_BG.blp, and it was gone. but i also set my self/target buff size to 0 and use a differnt buff mod.

See the SpartanUI forum for more info but the short version is that's a known bug related to weapon temporary enchantments (poisons, windfury weapon, oils, etc).
The dev's are working on a new version that should be out rly soon, with the fix for this little "bugger"
