Okay, I can see how that might happen, at least theoretically. An upgrade dropped, and what Pawn previously thought was your best item for healing (Flash Freeze Gauntlets from Blackwing Descent) wasn't an item that your computer had item stats for from the server yet. I think that would only happen if you didn't actually own that item anymore (because you should always have the stats for items in your inventory and bank). For example, that could happen if you vendored or disenchanted those gloves using a different computer than the one you were playing on when you downed Spine of Deathwing. Does that sound similar to what happened?
I should have it fixed in 1.5.20. In that case, the new item will still show up as an upgrade, but Pawn just won't try (and fail) to show what item it's an upgrade for. |

Error thrown on group loot roll frames in LFR
As per the subject: Pawn 1.5.19, USEng client/server, WoW 4.3.3.15354 live, 85 Paladin tank, standard Blizzard group loot roll frames appearing after killing Spine of Deathwing in LFR.
Have Pawn set to show its tooltip to suggest upgrade status on the loot roll frames. When the frames appeared (first time during the session; I joined the LFR with 2 bosses already dead), the Pawn tooltip appeared empty instead of showing data. And an error was thrown up: Code:

Re: Where to find updated values for 4.3
Merry Christmas to you too! When in doubt I'd take updated EJ threads over the Wowhead numbers most anyday, so definitely you're on the right track. Creating your own scale isn't too hard. What I'd suggest is to start with the default Wowhead one even if you're not going to keep any of the numbers—that way you get a few paladin-specific settings automatically set for you, like the color pink for your numbers, a preference for plate after hitting level 50, the inability to use daggers, and so on. Go to the Scales tab in the Pawn UI, choose "Paladin: tank", and click Copy and choose a new name.
Then, go to the Values tab. For each stat in the list of stat values in your EJ thread, go to that stat in Pawn and type in the number. It doesn't matter if the numbers are in the 100s or in the 1s and 2s as long as they're consistent. Should just take a minute and be much simpler than figuring out how to get the bottoms of your columns to line up in a CSS layout. There aren't a whole lot of guides that include an actual Pawn scale tag that can be pasted in, but as long as there's a table of stats and values you can use Pawn with it just fine. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Re: Shield vs Off-Hand
Hi! Does your shield show a value at all? Are you using one of the built-in Wowhead scales or one of your own?

Where to find updated values for 4.3
I am making my very first protection paladin so I've been reading from http://elitistjerks.com/f76/t126438-...end_me_my_way/
And http://www.wowhead.com/guide=473/the...-tanking-stats The Argument here is that EJ says that strength is the primary (for the latest patches), wowhead says it's stamina. I've read both arguments and agree with EJ. My problem is I can't find anywhere that people actually post new scales for pawn. Every website I find was last updated in 2009!!! (zOMG!!) Is there a place where people actually share PAWN scales that are current? Is there a guide or tutorial that shows how to make your own scales? I'd like to modify the scale it just seams overly complicated for me (And I spend my hours in HTML5, CSS3, SASS, SCSS modifying complicated calculations for clients websites - which is no simple task and perhaps more complicated than this!) Can someone help point me in the right direction please? Thanks, VinUnleaded P.S. Merry Christmas |

Shield vs Off-Hand
Hello!
My toon is using a shield, and when i put the mouse on a "held in off-hand" item, Pawn works like if i got nothing in my off-hand at all (meaning always a "upgrade", even if the shield is +100 stat and the off-hand is only +5 stat). What can I do to fix it? |

Hi; no, unfortunately, since Pawn needs to read the text on tooltips to function properly, this version won't work at all in other languages. There are some translated versions available but I'm not aware of any in Portuguese.

Thanks for the explanation, and the clever workaround! I set up a couple extra scales just as you described and it works just fine, and gives values that look much more like I'd expect. Hooray!

I don't know of any issues off hand (har har har), but I think the issue there is probably that those nice jugs you have there are one-handed weapons so they don't get any value from either the MH DPS or the OH DPS stats, but rather the 1H DPS stats.
Pawn currently doesn't have a concept of giving one item a different value based on which hand it's going in, so it has to go based on the weapon type. I'm not really sure how to best handle a value scale with different MH/OH DPS values like that. :-/ But what some people do is to have two nearly identical scales, one for main hand weapons and one for off-hand weapons, and the only difference between them is that in one scale the value for one-handed weapon DPS is the main-hand DPS value and off-hand weapons are hidden entirely for that scale, and in the other scale the one-handed weapon DPS is the off-hand DPS value and everything EXCEPT one-hand weapons and off-hand weapons are hidden for that scale. Then you'd only get one value shown for each item, except one-hand items, which would show two separate values. Kind of a pain, but it works. |

Are there any known issues with Pawn using the MH: DPS and OH: DPS values correctly? I plugged in the default Enhancement Shaman values from askmrrobot.com which makes use of both MH/OH dps and speed. Yet when I compared a lvl 187 mace with a Tremendous Tankard o' Terror, Pawn was telling me it was a mere 57% upgrade. If I instead used just "DPS" (not MH or OH specific), it showed a much greater percentage upgrade, which I'd expect.
Granted, I've been lazy and haven't manually calculated what it should be showing, just going by gut feeling that something is off... |

Just a note, I may end up bringing it back for the inspect window. I just noticed in Well of Eternity last night while deciding how scared I should be of my tank that I don't have a way to see how poorly geared my groupmates are now.
