Trinity Bars 2.0   Updated this week!   Popular!
Rate: 5 out of 5 with 37 votes

Trinity Bars 2.0

- Complete line-by-line rewrite of code.

- Unlimited Buttons:
  • With the new 2.3 API, limiting buttons to 120 is no longer necessary. Also, an initial install creates less buttons, letting the user have more control over deciding how many to create and use.
  • Buttons can now be designated as specific types of buttons -
    • "action": buttons that are based on the 120 action ID's and reflect spell placements in Blizz default UI.
    • "spell": buttons that are based on specific spells.
    • "item": buttons that reflect items dropped into the buttons
    • "macro": buttons that utilities the secure template macro system that allows for an unlimited number of macros up to a length of 1023 characters.
    • "slot": buttons that reflect items current equipped for the specified slot
- Casting Bar and XP Bar Mini Addons:
  • 1.0 made for huge headaches dealing with non-button frames. Usually when people had loading issues, it was due to these frames, namely the casting bar and the XP bar. 2.0 moves these frames into their own independent addons. This also allows for those users who want to use more advanced versions of casting bars or XP bars to more easily disable the Trinity versions.
    • Trinity Cast Bars - Manages casting bars, ability to create more than one
    • Trinity XP - Manages XP/Rep bars, ability to create more than one
    • Both of these mini-addons now allow for custom bar textures and borders
- New configuration methods:
  • Trinity Bars 1.0 originally had a configuration method that appealed to many people. However, it was limited and did not hold the extensibility that I needed to continue to make Trinity as robust as I wanted. 2.0 brings a means of configuration.

There are 3 configuration modes, each having a "simple" mode and an "advanced" mode.
    • Dock Edit Mode
    • Binding Edit Mode
    • Button Edit Mode
Each mode can be toggled by left(simple) or right(advanced) clicking their respective minimap buttons.
- Features:
  • Scale and set the transparency of bars
  • Adjust the frame strata of bars from BACKGROUND to DIALOG
  • Set a target for a bar. This bar will hide/show itself based on the target's existence
  • Set the bar into many shapes -
    • Horizontal
    • Vertical
    • Multi-Column
    • Circle
    • Circle + One (a special circle that keeps one button in it's center)
  • Skin buttons with many included custom skins or use cyCircled to skin buttons. Each bar can be skinned individually.
  • Many options to colorize various elements of buttons.
  • Adjust the padding between buttons, both horizontally and vertically
  • Many bar types to chose from -
    • Paged - up to 6 possible pages of buttons that respond to actionbar paging keybinds in the default key binding UI
    • Stance - responds to stance and form changes
    • Alt, Ctrl, Shift - responds to modifier key presses to show a new set of buttons
    • Stealth - responds to changes in stealth state
    • Reaction - responds to the bars set target friendly/hostile reaction to your character.
    • Combat/Retreat - shows/hides bars based on combat condition
    • PvP/PvE - shows/hides bars based on PvP flagged state
    • Party/Raid - these bars will hide/show themselves based on being in a party or a raid.
    • Possession - cause a bar to switch to a new state based on if your character is in control of a hostile unit
    • Autohide - set a bar to hide itself until it is moused-over
    • Showgrid - set a bar to always show it's empty buttons.
    • Prowl - a special option for druids to enable a prowl bar if the bar is also set to be a stance bar.
  • Ability to set a binding to toggle a bar to show/hide itself, even in combat
  • Create as many bars as you want, not limited to a pre-determined number of bars
  • Clone Bars - allows you to instantly duplicate any bar
  • Adjust the individual scaling of any button
  • Adjust the individual x and y axis of any button
  • Set the target for any single button
  • Anchor buttons - A button can be designated as an anchor for it's own bar or another bar. The anchors can work by either mouse-over or clicking.
  • Buff/Debuff highlighting - Track buffs on yourself or current target. The buttons that have spells that are current buffs/debuffs will highlight themselves.
  • Toggle the use of button tooltips
  • Turn button tooltips off while in combat
  • Enable buttons to respond to "down-clicks"
  • Text timers for cooldowns and the above buff/debuff highlighting feature.
  • Adjust the opacity of buttons based on if they are on cooldown or not
  • Manage the position and scale of bag frames
  • Lock buttons; ability to use Alt, Ctrl, or Shift as a modifier to drag spells from buttons
  • Keybind, macro and count text can all be shown or hidden
  • Ability to turn the Blizzard main bar on to use Trinity Bars 2.0 in conjunction with the default UI
  • Adjust the opacity of pet autocast animations
  • Set the speed at which transparent or auto-hide bars show themselves on mouse-over
  • And probably other features I am forgetting :P

Change Log - Trinity Bars 2.0
20400.1
-Many GUI enhancements.
-Various bug fixes.

20400.2

- Remade the simple dock editor. A central dropdown makes available the most common function for editing a bar.
- The toggles for the dock editors, bindings editors and button editors now toggle simple/advanced mode on a left or right click respectively.
- Fixes for both Blizzard macros and Trinity Bars macros

20400.3

- The GCD for druid abilities like mangle should trigger now
- New buttons should react to right-clicks now without having to relog.
- A new font has been chosen for keybinds, hopefully clearer for many users.
- Using the mousewheel over a dock will now cycle through all available states.
- Minor changes to setting up macros for proper icon selection.
- Added the option "Arc Preset" to the simple dock editor.
- When using keybinds that contain multiple modifiers, the keybind text should now reflect them properly.
- Fixed a bug when picking up spells of spell-based buttons
- Fixed an issue using the advanced dock editor when adjusting values on the xp/castbars
- Fix for spells that have () in the spell name, like druid Mangle(Cat)

20400.4

- Adjusted the French localization file to account for the new gender-based class names.
- Changed the default colors of button elements to colors other then white =)
- Changes to buttons of type "action", they should react as expected now.
- More minor changes to setting up macros for proper icon selection.
- Some performance optimizations

20400.5

- Added a "spell count" feature. This feature is toggled per button. This feature will show you how many of the button's current spell you can cast/perform based on mana/rage/energy left. This feature is CPU intensive if used for many buttons, just FYI.
- Storing non action buttons should no longer give the "Button storage is full" error.
- Some more optimizations
- Some small bug fixes

20400.5.1

- Small fix for the line 3071 error (I hope )

20400.5.2
- buttons of type "spell" should upgrade their spells properly if they were the max rank prior to learning a new rank.

20400.5.3
- a small tweak to the max rank spells upgrading for buttons of type "spell"

20400.6
- Hopefully final adjustment for buttons of type "spell" to uprank properly.
- Using the shift-click micro adjust should now follow the current dock.
- Buttons of type "item" should now properly reflect random "of the" items.
- Minimap button should now adjust position based on minimap shape.
- Fixed macros not saving when editing macros and jumping from one to the other while the macro editor is open.
- Added the ability to define paging/stance/aspect transitions in the advanced dock editor.
- Transparent bars set to "trans up" on battle should no longer "trans up" on mouseover too.
- The cast bars should no longer flash in red (failure) when it should not.

20400.7
- Changed the draw layer of macro names on buttons.
- Added a new event to help keep item button counts updated.
- Fixed an issue where the minimap button "creeped" along the minimap each time the main menu was opened.
- Added many new elements to the localization file.
- Fixed the issue of the cursor picking up a spell while over a button and the buttons are locked.
- Added coloring options to the castbar and xpbar addons in the advanced dock config menu.
- Added a new method of loading button contents only from templates
- Buttons of type "spell" should now have the proper tooltip based on the enhanced tooltip setting.
- Some more performance improvements.
- Added a new option in the main menu. When enabled, Left-dragging a button will fully pick up the contents, while right-dragging will copy the contents. Currently only works for spells of type "spell", "macro" and "item".
- Added "Retreat" and "Retreat+Mouseover" options to the "Transparency-Up" option.
- Reverted a change to alt/ctrl/shift bars to always set themselves to the last known state instead of the default of '0'. This will help with bars that get stuck when more than 2 modifiers are held down.
- Added a new template manager. Shift-click the main minimap button to open.
- Macros that use slot numbers should now reflect the item in the slot.

20400.7.1
- Removed the plugin for skinning other addons, as it was causing an error with a recent AutoBar update.

Yeah, I have noticed that too. I know where the problem lies, I just need to iron it out.

Another instance of this happening: learning blacksmithing plans. The casting bar reports failure.

i tried ditching my wtf's and have even tried going back to the previous release, but I'm still getting the same problem.
Anyone else seeing this?
