Auctioneer Suite
What is Auctioneer Suite?
Auctioneer is a complete rewrite that has taken over a year to complete and we are quite pleased with the outcome and trust that, given a few days, you will find most tasks made easier and, importantly, faster!
Auctioneer includes a number of enhancements, including:

CompactUI - An alternative to the standard auction browsing interface
* Displays more auctions per page
* Displays more data per auction
* Allows you to change column width by Left-Click and dragging the column to the size of your liking.
* Provides a percentage comparison with the Market Value Statistic of your choice
* Allows auctions to be color coded by price level
* Allows multiple sorting options not available on the standard interface

Appraiser - An alternative way to post your auctions
* Remembers your preferences for bid/buyout prices, stack sizes, and number of listings to post per item
* Allows queuing of auctions, so you can instruct it to list hundreds of auctions and alt-tab while it does so for you
* Allows you to specify the value price of your choice and remembers your selection
* Displays competing listings, the age of the data, and allows you to sort these listings and refresh them easily
* Provides a scrollable list of all auctionable items in your bags and allows you to select them for listing quickly
* Provides a "Match Competition" setting which will automatically undercut your competition when posting auctions, within your parameters
* Provides the ability to "Switch UI", or to use a more Auctioneer Classic posting methods
* Allows you to change column width by Left-Click and dragging the column to the size of your liking
* Allows you to post multiple auctions with the single click of the Batch Post button
  • Alt+Left-Click == Refresh Pricing of all Batch Postable Items
  • Shft+Alt+Left-Click==Trial Posting, prints the pricing to your chat window, but does not post any items, allowing you to verify settings
  • Ctrl+Shft+Alt+Left-Click==Post all items that have the "Allow Batch Posting" checkbox selected (located at the top of the item information pane)
Statistic Modules- These are customizable statistic modules which can be added to provide different types of pricing information through Auctioneer
* "Market" - a custom designed formula that merges the various statistics into a usable price. This is the default setting and is highly recommended.
* Stat-Simple - A straight average of the last 100 listings seen per item, with averages across 3, 7, and 14 days
* Stat-StdDev - Similar to Stat-Simple, this ignores listings that are outside of one standard deviation from the mean.
* Stat-VendMarkup - This allows you to calculate a listing price based on a markup of the vendor sell price.
* Stat-WOWEcon - This uses the outside addon WOWEcon to provide purchase-based data from it's database.
* Any other stat module that you or others wish to create can be easily added to auctioneer functionality

BeanCounter - An associated addon that tracks your bid, postings, and mail to help you determine your profitability
* Creates journal entries when you bid, buy, post, or retrieve AH mail.
* Provides a searchable interface that can display all activity or only certain items
* Allows you to change column width by Left-Click and dragging the column to the size of your liking

SearchUI - An Auctioneer Utility module that prompts you when it sees auctions that fit your criteria for buying/bidding
* Uses Searchers that you can customize for various desired deals such as:
+ Resale - Prompts you for deals based on discount from the market value, AH fee, and expected relistings
+ Disenchant - Prompts you for deals based on disenchanting armors and weapons
+ Prospecting - Prompts you for jewelcrafting deals from prospecting ores
+ Vendor - Prompts you for auctions listed below vendor sell price
* The "RealTimeSearch" will continually reload the first and last page of the AH, within reason, as per your configuration, to find the newest bargains and auctions that are just about to come to an end. Both great times to find some amazing deals.
* Piggybacks on your AH scans if allowed to do so

What is this scanning about?

Once a user moves to the auction house and beyond just buying and selling from/to vendors, the whole game changes. No longer is the user dealing with the static prices of the vendor to support their character's income. We are now dealing with the fluid and hectic nature of a dog-eat-dog market economy.

In such an economy, which is in a constant state of flux, it can be difficult to select the correct pricing points for your item at the auction house. Sometimes the prices and value of your items can be wildly different to the vendor price due to many factors, the value of items that can be made from your item, the use of a particular item in a quest, the suitability of a particular weapon or armor to specific classes, and the disenchantability of an item to enchanters.

Primarily, the driving factor of the price fluctuations, as in the real world is supply versus demand. When supply is high, but demand is low, competition drives the prices down, and conversely then supply is low, but demand is high, the market is driven into a sellers market.

What can Auctioneer do to help me?

Auctioneer can help you alleviate this lack of market knowledge over time by watching the market evolve. When you go to the auction house for the first time after installing Auctioneer, you will see a row of 3 buttons along the top of the main "Browse" frame, click the "play" button to begin your first scan of the entire auction house. Auctioneer will begin recording statistics for every item it finds, including the bid, buyout, and more.

Once the market analysis has completed, you will notice additional information about the items in the tooltips when you mouse over them.

What happens when you go to sell items via the Auction House?

If auctioneer has enough data, when you try to put an auction up for sale, it will attempt to provide you with intelligent pricing points based upon the market data it has accumulated through scanning.

When you select an item in Appraiser, Auctioneer will suggest a minimum price, a buyout price and display relevant data about it's decision making process in the right window, including how it has arrived at its prices.

What are the available pricing models?
There are numerous pricing models from which to choose, they are discussed in the FAQ, located at http://Wiki.Norganna.Org/AucAdvanced/FAQ.

Conclusion
We hope this helps people to understand Auctioneer a bit better.

Some big additions this time.

A special thanks to those who gave above and beyond any expectations in order to deliver a working SimpleAuction Module!!

*SimpleAuction allows those who use it to post much the same as in "Classic". Click-hooks are yet to be added, but the basics are all in place.
*Added the Stat:iLevel which will provide price recommendations based off of an items level.
* The AutoMagic module's auto-loader for mass-mailing should be back up and operational.

JDaniel,

In the next release, the settings will save.

Until then, you can either move it at login or type /nsb off to have it not show for that session.

Rhumst,

Sorry for not replying sooner- yes, tiptac seems to have issues every now and again. Not sure if this is something on their end or ours, it really has not been investigated all too much.

Happy that you were able to at least find the cause.

Happy Sales,

Nikk

Having to move your bags up to the upper part of your screen if you need an item in there.
I think it could be Bagnon or TipTac interferring, but I don't really know.

Kaoro,

That is due to the iLevel statistic. It is just showing the "value" compared to other items for the same slot and iLevel.

Obviously, for BOP items, it can be ignored, other than giving you an idea of the item's overall value.

Happy Sales,

Nikk

Re: Auctioner/Enchantrix

Nymie,

Enchantrix is included in the Auctioneer Suite.

Just ensure that it has a gold checkmark in the AddOns control panel, accessed by clicking the Addons button in the lower left of the Character Selection Screen, and that you enter /Enx enable always once per character for which you would like to see its information.

Happy Sales,

Nikk

Re: disconnect during get-all scan

Zorklat,

There is a reason why we do not have GetAll as a button in the interface... Blizzard has yet to correct many issues that can cause a whole range of "bad stuff".

Does the regular scan function?

As to WoWMatrix, we do *not* recommend using that tool since they often do not install the correct version, install in the incorrect locations, and that many people who use it notice all sorts of issues.

Installing AddOns and maintaining them is really not that hard, especially when sites like WoWInterface and Curse will email you or PM you when items are updated, et cetera.

Let us know of your results when trying the normal scan,

Nikk

Kaoro,

Yes, that is one of the reasons; the biggest being less system resources.

As to the other data, there is a Preview up on our main site, to check it out, simply go to http://AuctioneerAddOn.Com/dl , select Preview, and then Auctioneer Suite.

Happy Sales,

Nikk

I love Auctioneer. I really believe that it is the only reason two of my characters have fast flying mounts. It takes away the hassle of picking arbitrary prices for auctions.

The latest version I have downloaded is acting up. The game action stutters when hovering over items in my inventory. Maybe it's the tooltip modification. The 3D animations happening briefly pause whenever hovering from one item to the next.

Is this one of the reasons you guys are switching to that new tooltip library? Speaking of which, when can we expect a release containing all the updates for Wrath & the new tooltip code?

Thank you.

Re: Undercut How?

Sigea,

Just ensure that in the "General" options settings, you have the matcher order set to Beancount and then Undercut.

That way, your prior sales will have a chance to adjust the price a bit, followed by undercutting/matching competition.

Happy Sales,

Nikk

I just upgraded from what I think was a beta version to the newest release version, and Undercut no longer seems to be undercutting.

For example, someone posts a billion stacks of wool at 7.25s and Appraiser has these auctions "colored yellow" from the default install. Even with the Undercut module enabled, the "Enable Price Matching" checkbox checked, Appraiser then sets the buyout price for my stacks to 7.32s, so my auctions aren't actually undercutting. This happens even if I have the "Max under market price (markdown)" option set to -100%

I've had to resort setting fixed prices, which is really killing the usefulness of scanning & batch posting.

Edit:
Okay, if I disable Bean Counter, Undercut then matches properly, so I assume Bean Counter is taking priority with pricing, which is probably great at times, but in this case, when people aren't likely to buy said billion stacks of wool, it'll result in me just losing the auction deposit and having to repost it all again.

Is there some really elegant way to have the two both enabled and coexist? or is Bean Count just gonna override Undercut 100% of the time?

Zorklat,

The statistics automatically maintain data for about a month, the exception being histogram that should keep data until the file fills and resets.

That helps keep the recommendations current.

Happy Sales,

Nikk

With the changes, that should take quite some time
