To receive updates via PM or email when updated, mark as a "Favorite" in the box to the right.

The Auctioneer Suite provides you with the tools and data necessary to make those difficult auctioning decisions with ease.

From purchasing to posting, the Auctioneer Suite provides time-tested tools to allow you more time to actually play your characters or play the market.

As you will soon discover, it is much more than a simple "Auctioning AddOn", the Auctioneer Suite also shows in-depth information for all game items, such as those used in quests or recipes, enchanting, milling, prospecting and more.

Numerous other AddOns will also use the Auctioneer statistics you gather via scanning. This is especially true for many of the popular crafting AddOns, such as Little Sparky's Workshop.

Looking for Lightweight and Fast?

Try the "Auctioneer" download from our primary site, rather than the "Auctioneer Suite" we upload to Curse and WoWInterface. All of our downloads are accessible from our primary site at http://auctioneeraddon.com/dl . This version offers a small footprint, with only the basic "Post" frame and tooltip information to assist in your purchasing decisions.

When updating this time:

Be sure to remove all old files- follow the instructions at http://wiki.norganna.org/Installing .

Please, do not post errors here; instead, kindly visit http://forums.norganna.org/ , our Support Forum, and be sure to search before posting- many questions and errors reported are duplicates.

For the fastest service, various questions are addressed in the Auctioneer FAQ, http://wiki.norganna.orgAuctioneer/FAQ . We have gone to great lengths to ensure that the most common issues have been addressed.

Questions, comments, concerns, alphas/betas (when available), bug reports, the occasional bit of praise?

Basic Auctioneer Suite Details

The Auctioneer Suite contains Auctioneer, all of its modules, BeanCounter, Enchantrix and Enchantrix Barker, and Informant to help provide a comprehensive view of item data, whether at the Auction House or out questing. Some highlights are:

Appraiser

An intuitive auction posting frame.
  • Remembers your preferences for bid/buyout prices, stack sizes, and number of listings to post per item.
  • Allows queuing of auctions, so you can instruct it to list hundreds of auctions and alt-tab while it does so for you
  • Allows you to specify the value price of your choice and remembers your selection
  • Displays competing listings, the age of the data, and allows you to sort these listings and refresh them easily.
  • Provides a scrollable list of all auctionable items in your bags; allowing you to quickly post all of your goods.
  • Provides a "Match Competition" setting which will automatically undercut your competition when posting auctions, within your parameters
  • Provides the ability to change to a "Simple" view; a bit like the Auctioneer Classic posting interface.
  • Allows you to change column width by Right-Clicking and dragging to the column width of your choice.
  • Allows you to post multiple auctions with the single click of the Batch Post button.
    • Alt+Left-Click == Refresh Pricing of all Batch Postable Items.
    • Shift+Left-Click==Trial Posting, prints the pricing to your chat window, but does not post any items, allowing you to verify settings.
    • Ctrl+Shift+Alt+Left-Click==Post all items that have the "Allow Batch Posting" checkbox selected (located at the top of the item information pane).
CompactUI

An alternative to the standard auction browsing interface.
  • Displays more auctions per page
  • Displays more data per auction
  • Allows you to change column width by Right-Clicking in the column heading and dragging left or right to resize the column to your liking
  • Provides a percentage comparison with the Market Value Statistic of your choice
  • Allows auctions to be color coded by price level
  • Allows multiple sorting options not available on the standard interface
Statistic Modules

There are a variety of fully customizable statistic modules included with Auctioneer that can provide a variety of pricing information- all based upon your needs.
  • "Market Price" - a custom designed formula that merges the various statistics into a usable price. This is the default setting and is highly recommended.
  • Auc-Stat-Histogram - Returns Median and IQR values, based upon a Histogram of pricing data. Essentially, a median value, based upon all prices ever seen; no data is ever discarded.
  • Auc-Stat-iLevel - Statistics modules that groups all items of same rarity, type, and iLevel together (e.g. all green weapons of iLevel 180). Useful for pricing random "of the ..." items.
  • Auc-Stat-Purchased - Statistics module that tries to infer purchase prices based on items disappearing before they could have expired. (Requires more frequent scanning of the AH)
  • Auc-Stat-Sales – Uses data from BeanCounter to display historical statistics on actual purchase and sale prices. Note that this statistic is installed along with BeanCounter, and cannot be installed separately.
  • Auc-Stat-Simple - Statistics module that performs simple averaging of data, converted daily to exponential moving averages of the orders 3, 7 and 14.
  • Auc-Stat-StdDev - Statistics module that keeps the last 100 price points for an item and performs a standard deviation on the data list to exclude outliers from the sample space and provide a normalized mean.
  • Auc-Stat-WOWEcon - Statistics module that uses the WOWEcon AddOn's data (if separately installed) to provide the price to other Auctioneer modules.
  • Any other stat module that you or others wish to create can be easily added to auctioneer functionality!
SearchUI

An Auctioneer Utility that prompts you when it sees auctions that fit your criteria for buying and, or, bidding.
  • Uses Searchers that you can customize for various desired deals such as:
    • Resale - Prompts you for deals based on discount from the market value, AH fee, and expected relistings
    • Disenchant - Prompts you for deals based on disenchanting armor and weapons
    • Prospecting - Prompts you for jewelcrafting deals from prospecting ores
    • Vendor - Prompts you for auctions listed below vendor sell price
  • The "RealTimeSearch" will continually reload the first and last page of the AH, within reason, as per your configuration, to find the newest bargains and auctions that are just about to come to an end. Both great times to find some amazing deals.
  • Piggybacks on your AH scans if allowed to do so
BeanCounter

An associated AddOn that tracks your bid, postings, and mail to help you determine your overall and item-specific profitability.
  • Creates journal entries when you bid, buy, post, or retrieve AH mail.
  • Provides a searchable interface that can display all activity or only certain items
  • Allows you to change column width by Left-Click and dragging the column to the size of your liking
Enchantrix

Enchantrix displays values for disenchanting, milling, and prospecting; plus suggested values for selling enchants. Enchantrix can also automate disenchanting, milling and prospecting. Some baseline pricing is built in, but Enchantrix also uses values from Auctioneer to provide up-to-date prices for your server/faction. Enchantrix also includes controls to let you customize the pricing by enchant material (fixed prices and weighting).

Informant

Informant displays additional information about items in their tooltips: buy price; sell price; item level; what quests, classes or professions use the item; the value of the item produced by a recipe; etc. Informant can also tell you what vendors sell a given item.

What can Auctioneer do to help me?

Once a user moves to the Auction House (AH) and beyond just buying and selling from/to vendors, the whole game changes. No longer is the user dealing with the static prices of the vendor to support their character's income. We are now dealing with the fluid and hectic nature of a dog-eat-dog market economy.
In such an economy, which is in a constant state of flux, it can be difficult to select the correct pricing points for your item at the AH. Sometimes, the prices and value of your items can be wildly different compared to the vendor price due to many factors, the value of items that can be made from your item, the use of a particular item in a quest, the suitability of a particular weapon or armor to specific classes, and the disenchantability of an item to enchanters.
Primarily, the driving factor of the price fluctuations, as in the real world is supply versus demand. When supply is high, but demand is low, competition drives the prices down, and conversely then supply is low, but demand is high, the market is driven into a sellers market.
The Auctioneer Suite can help you alleviate this lack of market knowledge over time by watching the market evolve.
When you go to the Auction House (AH) for the first time after installing Auctioneer, you will see a row of 3 buttons along the top of the main "Browse" frame, click the "play" button to begin your first scan of the entire AH. Auctioneer will begin recording statistics for every item it finds, including the bid, buyout, and more.
Once the market analysis has completed, you will notice additional information about the items in the tooltips when you mouse over them.

What happens when you go to sell items via the Auction House?

If Auctioneer has enough data, when you try to put an auction up for sale, it will attempt to provide you with intelligent pricing points based upon the market data it has accumulated through scanning.
When you select an item in the full or simple "Appraiser" frame, Auctioneer will suggest a minimum price, a buyout price and display relevant data about it's decision making process in the right, receipt window, including how it has arrived at its prices.
When you place an item in the SimpleAuction, "Post" frame, Auctioneer will suggest a minimum bid, a buyout price, and display relevant data, including the deposit and more.

What are the available pricing models, or statistics, again?

There are numerous pricing models from which to choose, they are discussed in the FAQ, located at http://Wiki.Norganna.Org/Auctioneer/FAQ.

Conclusion

We hope this helps people to understand the Auctioneer Suite a bit better.

Happy Auctioneering!!

Nikk and the rest of the Team at Norganna's AddOns.
Auctioneeros,

We are pleased to release Auctioneer and Auctioneer Suite 5.13, the BoldBandicoot, which is fully compatible with World of Warcraft 4.3.x.

Right about 60 changes, fixes and, or, enhancements by our volunteer staff this time around. The highlights are noted below, for the complete change log, please visit http://fisheye.norganna.org/project/AUC .

All of our volunteers have put in a lot of time to help ensure that the Auctioneer Suite will help meet your Auction House and general item data needs. Thank you to all of the good folks who have coded, tested, documented, and hung out; without you, what would be the point, right? =)

* Please be sure to read and follow http://Wiki.Norganna.Org/Installing when upgrading your installation.
* All of the very latest http://Localizer.Norganna.Org language string updates have been imported and will be displayed in your localized client.
** We are continually in need of help localizing the ongoing changes to Auctioneer, BeanCounter, Enchantrix, Informant, and the other AddOns listed at http://Localizer.Norganna.Org - especially ptBR and deDE.
** "Registering" takes only moments and you can be on your way... it is quite simple. Even if you only have the time/inclination to help with a few translations, that will be better than what we have now for some of the locales.
** Before starting, kindly take a look at http://forums.norganna.org/index.php?p=/discussion/9517/ for some basic thoughts.

Happy Auctioneering,

Nikk and the rest of the family at Norganna’s AddOns

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Not matching my own price?

Barleduq,

Not difficult - sorry for the miscommunication, do not have the game or UI handy, so have to go from memory, which is not the best all the time. ;-)

Yes, the 'ignore user' is the whitelist, such as if you post from an alternate account and the like. Can you try doing that, adding all of your characters into the list on each machine - then see if that undercutting continues.

Also, when you take a screenshot, if the odd behaviour continues, please hold Shift as you move the mouse over the item's icon in Appraiser, that will provide the complete tooltip, to help track down this oddity.

Let us know of your findings.

Happy Sales,

Nikk

Could you please tell me where this whitelist is? I've gone through every tab in the window that opens up when I press the config button on the Auctioneer window, and found nothing called 'whitelist'. I did find something that would let me ignore a user - is that what you mean? It doesn't sound like it, but I'm unable to find anything else.

My apologies for being difficult.

Re: Swatter reports an error with Beancounter, where do I put it?

Barledeq,

Just copy the error - Control+A and Control+C or Command+A and Command+C within the error and then paste - Control/command V into a new comment on our forums, http://Forums.Norganna.Org . You will need an account, but that takes a matter of seconds via the 'sign in' link in the upper right and we do not use information for any nefarious purposes.

That way we can help sort out whether the issue is something previously fixed/ something local - or something systemic that needs a full jira ticket.

Happy Sales,

Nikk

Re: Merging two computer's information?

Barleduq,

You would need to copy over the appropriate items in the ..\WorldofWarcraft\WTF\Account\<YourWoWAccountName>\SavedVariables, after log-out, from your 'active' machine, to the next - likely best done via a batch script of some sort, to save headaches.

Copy all files beginning with Auc and also BeanCounter.lua.

Nikk

The only time it does so is when the price matching is set to fixed price (in other words, not taking into consideration the prices already on the AH.)
I'm not 100% sure, but I think you're asking that:
* When using Appraiser
* When not using a fixed price (i.e. when pricing based on market price or some other stat, possibly including some amount of undercutting)
* If you already have items listed, ignore the price stat you've selected, and instead post the item at whatever price you've already posted it at

Do I have that right?
I think so ... it *is* confusing.

Especially if you're also using undercutting, for which the state of the competition is extremely important in deciding how the item gets priced. You'd never want to continue posting at an earlier price if new competition has entered the market just below you, for example (or if competition has disappeared).
Hm. It would seem to me that if I'm posting the same object at two different prices, I should either cancel the previous auctions (and possibly take the hit on the deposit) or wait till those auctions fail/end. It just seems rather inconsistent to me to have multiple auctions for the same object at different prices.

Well, I *wouldn't* have, if it wasn't automatically picking a different price.

I'll look at this further, but I do believe it *has* offered me an 'undercut' price when I was the only person auctioning the item in question. I will specifically look for this situation again.

Thank you very much for your reply!

I'm not 100% sure, but I think you're asking that:
* When using Appraiser
* When not using a fixed price (i.e. when pricing based on market price or some other stat, possibly including some amount of undercutting)
* If you already have items listed, ignore the price stat you've selected, and instead post the item at whatever price you've already posted it at

Do I have that right?

In that case, I don't know that we would offer that functionality. If you're not using a fixed price, then you want the item to post based on some or all of your price statistics, and if those are changing, then your pricing probably should as well. Not matching my own price?

I've noticed that when I have Auctioneer set to enable price matching, it will almost always treat other auctions of my own for the same item as something to be competed with - offering a lower default price. Is there a setting that I can tell it 'if I have auctions up for the same item, use that price'? The only time it does so is when the price matching is set to fixed price (in other words, not taking into consideration the prices already on the AH.)

Thank you! use this to tatters!

Re: getall freezes game

Naurbrannon,

The only thing that should cause that - other than a really, really poor server connection, is a corrupted scandata file. If the normal scan completes without issue, it is most likely the first issue, though.

But, you can check to be certain, just enter the following at the in-game chat/command prompt:

/Auc clearscan ALL

After doing that, restart WoW and run a scan, as usual, watch for the 'end of scan summary' and be sure to see what it is saying- the scans may well not be finishing correctly.

Let us know of your findings.

Happy Sales,

Nikk

I tried deleting saved data in WTF and the total number of auctions is not really high, about 24k.

Very annoying as I have to resort to the slow scan.

Blia,

The issue here is that the functionality you seek already is included in the SearchUI, without any need to dig around in anything. Go to the General Searcher, enter item name and whatever other criteria you want, such as ilevel, type, et cetera, and then enter a name for your search and click 'Save'. You can then pull up that item by clicking the 'load' button. The filters and such are all passive, if you do not want them, then just leave them with the defaults.

Or, if you are always looking for specific items, say leather, just drop that into the 'Snatch" searcher with whatever criteria you want, or leave the rest blank, if you do not want/need it. That way, you do not even need to click through whatever hundreds or thousands of items for which you normally look. Click one button and then find every item you normally need, all in one place, where you can easily select them and buy or bid.

If you are always on the prowl for items that are listed for less than the Market Price, by whatever percentage or gold/silver/copper amount, that is what the Resale Searcher is designed to do, without needing to enter anything - you can set it up and then use it after every time you scan.

As to the 'button', we really are not interested in placing more on the main, browse frame, which tends to be where Blizzard mucks about more than elsewhere. It is not just a button, after all, if something is added, then you need to deal with saving the searches, providing some way to edit them, and worry about Blizzard changing things. We already do that on the SearchUI frame, so that folks can find things quickly and easily, so the likelihood of adding another place/widget to do that is unlikely at best. Honestly, it would be easy to tell you to add a ticket, but, especially with the manpower as it is, you likely would grow very tired of waiting. The 'things to do' list, which has about 800 things that would be nice to have/maybe some day is at http://Jira.Norganna.Org .

Do note that you, or anyone, is more than welcome to make a utility module that does specifically what you want, where you want. The FAQ has information on what is needed, and we include a sample module (or any of the other modules) from where folks can get started. Especially on that frame, we do not modify anything, we just overlay the buttons and 'CompactUI'/manifest list, so you could make a stand-alone AddOn that does what you want, too.

Actually, there used to be a few AddOns around, so you may want to look here and at Curse for some that are either still updated or just need a tiny bit of work to be functional.

Happy Sales,

Nikk

What I just suggesting is a way to quickly display the last search, not digging into a hundred options or filters (you must admit that Auctioneer is full of options and possibilities, which is also a good thing ).

But well, it's a bit complicated and not that fast as a simple button.

Thank you for this great addon.
PS : Is there a todo list (planned features) somewhere ?
