BTex   Popular!
***********************************
Btex version 2.5.0
***********************************

What is it? :
-------------
Btex (for 'Bottom TEXture') is a very lightweight addon for World Of Warcraft providing Background texture at the bottom of the screen. It contains a package of unique skins, a simple to use menu for settings skins, texture height and trancparency. All skins are compatible with Xart(Ace) and ElectrofluxTextronator(Ace). I choose to do it like xArt so that any textures made for xArt or ElectrofluxTextronator can be easily used for BTEX2 as well.

What can it do? :
-----------------
- Put a texture of your choice on the bottom of the screen via menu options (use /bx menu or /btex menu),
- Set height of your texture,
- Use any other TGA alpha channeled texture from other addon like Xart or ElectrofluxTextronator, or any other "pack" of skin,
- Work in any resolution (1920x1200 is max),
- Set transparency for any background texture or frame,
- Low memory usage.

Ready to use skins :
--------------------
The following skins are packaged and are ready to use via the options menu:
- Dark Shadow I
- Dark Shadow II
- Dark Shadow III
- Simple Black
- Fade Black
- Red Fury
- Warcraft Classic
- Ice Dragon
- Ice Dragon remake (credits to Xaphiroth)
- Ice Dragon remake with pet bar(credits to Xaphiroth)
- Wall
- White Dragon

Skins package know to work :
----------------------------
You download and use this skins too (copy them to Interface/Addons/btex/skins/ and just use "Custom skins")
- Anakitty and anarui (i dont know who made this) (http://wowrotonde.free.fr/WoW/Btex_skins/)
- Demonic (low resolution only) (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/demonic.aspx)
- Sewell XArt Pack (http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info7100-SewellXArtPack.html)
- Xart Skin - Warcraft 3 elven (http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info7123-XartSkin-Warcraft3elven.html)
- Fairy Tale Style using XArt (http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info6712-FairyTaleStyleusingXArt.html)
- ElectrofluxTextronator (http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info6847-ElectrofluxTextronator.html)

FAQ :
-----
How do I run menu config ? type "/bx Menu" or "/Btex menu" in the chat windows.

Why the download is so big ? it's because it contain many images.

Do the old XART skins work with BTEX? yes, just put them in the skins directory, and use the "custom texture" options on the dropdown menu.

Do the skin support alpha channel TGA? yes, and you can change the transparency of the bottom frame as well.

Can i use BLP file? not for now. buf if needed, i can add this, just let me know.

How can i add my own skin ? just put it in the /skins directory and choose "Load Custom" from the dropdown menu in game.
then follow insctructions. you can add all Xart texture compliant (512x256 pixel)x4, or make your own with Gimp or photoshop (they have to be TGA aplha channeled).

How i do Custom TGA or blp ?
- you need The Gimp or Adobe Photoshop,
- you can use White Dragon PSD file provided to you as an exemple : http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/fileinfo.php?id=11906
- Width and height must be a power of two 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, or 512 (use 512x256 for bottom skins),
- Color depth must be 24-bit (8x8x8),
- 8-bit alpha channel must be present (thus making a 32 bit depth),
- Image must be uncompressed,
- Image must either be TGA or BLP (or PNG? I've never used that one but heard of it being tried before.).

Different escape error

Hi, I'm getting a different error. When I hit escape, sometimes I get a few lines of code printed in my chatbox. Looks something like

BTex Stopcasting()
BTex Cleartarget()

or something to that effect. Only it doesn't actually do anything, and it also disables my escape menu from working..

Does this mod provide settings for the viewport of the game, or is this strictly art?

Im getting the same "esc" error as well. (I changed the look myself, obviously its not one of the standard skins that came with it.)

I've found something with the BasicMinimap mod. The errors do not happen at all for me until I interact with my minimap. Once I click on my minimap (e.g. right-click to bring up the in-game calendar) the errors begin from that point on with each press of the ESC key.
I believe you are right on that one, at least as far as mine goes, When i bring up calander, it starts that error.

I see the other guys don't run this mod so but they do have mods that affect their minimap so maybe the error has something to do with the minimap?

Hope this helps!

My mods are as follows:

Bartender4
BasicMinimap
Btex
ButtonFacade
ButtonFacade_Onyx
ButtonFacade_Sleek
DoubleWide
DRB
Examiner
Gatherer
Gatherer_HUD
GathererDB_Wowhead
LightHeaded
LightHeaded_Data_A
LightHeaded_Data_B
LightHeaded_Data_C
LightHeaded_Data_D
LightHeaded_Data_E
MBB
Outfitter
PhanxChat
Recount
TomTom

P.S. I've also noticed that sometimes it never gives me the error and other times it gives it every single time I press ESC but I always run these same mods. Also, at times it not only gives an error but totally locks the ESC key to a point that I can no longer use it to deselect targets or close boxes.
