Mapster for the Wrath of the Lich King Beta! Get it --> here <--
Mapster is a very simple world map enhacement addon, which was designed to work in conjunction with all other map addons out there. The idea to create Mapster originated from pure lack of a simplistic addon that only modifies the world map, without adding a full scale feature set.
Features
Map Style (Scale & Alpha)
Coordinates
Fog of War removal
Enhancement of the raid/party group icons
You can access the Mapster configuration menu through the new button on the world map, as shown in the screenshot.
All features (except the style) can be turned off individually if you do not need/want them.
If you're looking for a replacement to Cartographer, i also recommend the following addons:
Gathering -> GatherMate (Hosted on WoWAce -> Download | Wiki)
Something else I'd like to add that seems to work great with this (although not exactly a map addon but helps for questing) is doublewide that's available for download on this site. Lightheaded is awesome too but I haven't done much testing with the new version as I'm waiting for load-on-demand to be implemented (new version loads everything upon initial load so takes a bit of memory to run... shouldn't really affect performance though if you have plenty of memory).

Getting same error when I click mapster button with no other addons enabled..
wonderful idea, I missed a simple and lightweight map mod, and AlphaMap sadly stopped working 100% after the 2.4 update. I only have one issue: When starting, the AddOn gives me this error:
The map itself works fine though; when clicking on the Mapster button on the top right of the map screen, I get this one:
Any idea what might be causing it? I disabled all AddOns except Mapster and still get it :<
