Klaan has a good idea in the post before this.
what i mean is, it'd be great if the user could do some slash command thing (or maybe click a button, but, the slash command sounds easier to add, and to debug) to make a new macro swap-slot, so that they are not restrained to a preset amount of macro swap-slots, instead, they could make as many or as few as they need. my UI is a mess of macros atm, the mod Macaroon allows me to build my own actionbars, in whatever shape i want, with as many buttons as i want. here is a link to an old screenshot (but it should still be a very good example) see, using Macaroon, i have my actionbars set up to have on hand any quest items i might need for dailys, raids, whatever. this results in a pretty cluttered actionbar, so i am hoping that IHML might be able to fix that. granted, it has already helped a lot there, but, i'd really like to finish clearing up my actionbars. the less extra buttons i have on my actionbars, the less i have to distract me in a raid.

I don't use DBM so I wouldn't know how to code for it. If you wish to add support in IHML, I'll do it for you if I'm given the code. |

what we can do in the meantime...
This mod does work for 3.*. Its just that Blizzard has changed some things about how macros behave, namely /targetexact no longer behaves as it has. That command was used to target a dead mob before for using an item on it. This command now favors a live mob if in range, over the target you just killed...
After playing wih it for an hour or so last night, reading forums for suggestions - I found that replacing /targetexact (name of mob) with a simple /targetlastenemy works just fine. I suspect it would fail only if you change targets or get surprise attacked after looting and before clicking the macro. Other forum suggestions involved a mouseover, but I preferred a method closest to how it previously functioned. Editing the macros, creating your own is really easy. As I am still progressing through the game to get all the dailies, I create them as I go. I use the original TBC macros (found easily by typing /ihml) as examples because I know little about macro commands. I would like to note that to keep things formatted as the original author intended, I installed a mod to show the ItemID in the tooltip. I don't know how or why this this is important, but I trust it's best. Maybe in case Blizz decides to rename an item it won't throw off the macro.... Also I see that iHML has been updated today, so maybe this post is already obsolete, but the changelog on Curse only says the .toc was updated. Heres an example for the daily Blowing Hodir's Horn: I named the macro Thunderfall and the icon is 1. #showtooltip item:42164 /targetlastenemy /cast Hodir's Horn |
