This addon was created to provide visual cues (auras) when you gain buffs, debuffs and many more. Very useful for shorts buffs or debuffs, it allows you to draw in the center of the screen, or around your character, very customizable visual effects, rather than having to look at or mouseover buff/debuff icons/actionbars.

Initially created to give visual cues for short duration procs like "clear casting" or some boost trinket you activate, many more aura triggers have been added since.
It now works with debuffs (whatever their name), debuff types (like Magic or Curse), combo points, harmful area spells, weapon enchants, Health, Mana, Rage or Energy thresholds, action cooldowns, aggro, pvp status and stance or shapeshift form.


How to use :

1- Type /powa, to open the effect browser
2- Click on the button "New" to create a new effect
3- On the effect editor, you can choose the texture to apply to the effect, the position, the size, the symmetry, be creative :P
4- Below, select the activator of the effect (like a buff, debuff, etc...)
5- Enter the name of the buff, debuff... just below (or a part of the buff, like "clear" for activation with the buff "clear cast"). Don't forget to read the tooltips for more help on ways to enter the names
6- It's ready ! Close all windows, when you gain the buff/debuff, the effect appears


You can easily add new textures by adding them in the "Custom" Directory,
or dropping sequentially numbered Auraxx.tga files in the Auras subfolder inside the addon directory.

i love this add on.

my only suggestion would be to have a toggle for "while possessing" so i don't have my ability timers and aura's up when i am on a argent crusade mount jousting and i cant use those abilities.

edit.

so now that i saw the beta for power aura classic 2.6.3N i see you have a "while in vehicle" radio button... so ignore me.

This is an awesome addons in so many ways, but I got some problems with it that I dont know how to solve.

As a resto shammy im using it to keep track on my cooldowns on Ripride, Grounding totem, Hex etc. A icon of the skill is supposed to pop up when its on cooldown, and a timer should tell me how long till I can use it again. This works for all my skills, besides Nature's Swiftness. Even if I use the exact same setup as the other cooldowns that works (beside the spell name, of course), it still wont work.

Here is another question:

When you check in "Text Aura", is it possible to pass a variable (example: UnitHealth("name")) instead of static text?

If not, I think this would be a nice addition to the addon

@Lilitharien: Do you have an addon that allow to move/hide frames? If yes, you might have by mistake "erased" powa frame or moved it out of the screen.

I've been using Power Auras for a few months now and I have a few things configured such as Renewed Hope, Borrowed Time, and some trinket procs. However last week I got a new trinket (Solace of the Fallen replacing Sif's Remembrance) and I cannot seem to get the configuration menu to open so I can add an aura to the new trinket's buff. I type /powa and nothing happens. It appears to work on my other characters (my DK and druid) but not on my priest, even though the addon is installed, enabled, and my older configured auras show up fine. I have the same addons enabled on all 3 of my characters, so I don't think it's a conflict between PA & something else. Help?

Matching Multiple Conditions

You can do this currently by chaining auras together
e.g.
Set-up Aura1 with the first condition (e.g. Greatness) (you will probably need to disable this one, hint SHIFT-click)
Mouse-over Aura1 to get its ID number
Set-up Aura2 with the aura/animation you want and the second condition (e.g. Unholy Strength)
Put Aura1's ID into the second textbox
Now Aura2 will only trigger if Aura1 & Aura2's conditions are met

i think you need 3 auras:

1 = hp < 50% -> effect 1
2/3 (chained) missing hp <= 10% and hp > 50% -> effect 2

I need some information about the textbox next to the checkbox "Exact Name". The one that the tooltip start with "Enter here other Aura IDs to combine checks."
What is it exactly and how do I use it?

Also, what is the difference between Character effects and Global effects?
Is it only to give a separation or is there a real difference?

Also, is it possible to make an aura to disappear when another proc even if the condition of the first aura is still true?

Like, at 90% hp, I want X aura to proc, but if hp get to 50%, I want X aura to disappear and Y aura show up instead.

I know I can use grid for that and I am doing that at the moment but I would rather use power auras for it because of the greater customization it allows.

So if anyone knows of a way to check buffs on specific party members please let me know

Found a bug with timers

Hello. I found a bug with timers.

When you set up a Timer for a Debuff on an Enemy Target and set a Duration:

When you cast the debuff, it shows up the timer and icon, but if you stop to target the said target, the timer and icon go away.
Also if you target back your target, the icon show up again, but the timer is gone.


Also, is it normal that it is not possible to set a duration when you do not check in "Enemy Target"?

Two things, One) Looks like your Alpha Channel got inverted. Switch the black to white and vice-versa and all should be fine. CTRL+I is an easy way to accomplish this, once the alpha channel is selected, and the whole of the image is. I think CTRL+A does this.

Two) You made an alpha channel, but forgot to black out the portions of the art you didn't want to show, IE- the background. In the alpha channel, White is what shows, Black is what's hidden, Gray is translucent.

Use your raid frames for that. Do you use Healbot or Grid or something like that? If not, you should get one. I use Grid for healing and use the corner auras to show PW:S and WS.
