Am Dead
Music For The Dead
__________________________ -> ON FIRST USE MAKE SURE YOU TYPE /AD AND CHECK ENABLED THEN HIT OKAY <-
Am Dead is an addon that plays music upon death, until you ressurect.
_______About___________
Am Dead was thought of as I continuously die, and wish there was a way to have a song every time I die!
I turned my dream into an addon, and now when I die I can have my favorite song playing until I ressurect.
_______Usage___________
Am Dead is very simple to use. First, you extract it into your interface\addons folder. Then you place any songs you might want into your "Sounds" folder, located within the Am Dead main folder. It's optional, but I usually rename my files into something simple like FavoriteSong.mp3.
Then you start up WoW. Once in-game, you can access the configuration menu by hitting escape, then clicking interface, then the addons tab. Or by simply typing /ad or /amdead.
Once the configuration menu is opened, you simply type in the exact name of your MP3, or WAV or w/e that you placed into the sounds folder into the options field called Dead Song. For example, my song name is FavoriteSong.mp3. So I type in FavoriteSong.mp3, and that is the song that plays when I die. Then, after typing the name is, click the OK button in the text edit box. Then click Okay on the interface options window.
_______Suggestions And Bug Reporting___________
If you have something you would love to see added to Am Dead, or a bug to report, post it here.
Change Log - Am Dead - Music For The Dead
r5 - Option to enable / disable the playing while dead. Also, disable the text displaying on death, or ressurect.
r4 - Fixed 4 realz.
r3 - Error on load.
r2 - Error on load.
Ok, the problem is that the event PLAYER_ALIVE triggers when you release from a dead body to spirit, I'll try and figure something out, and get it working as it should.
But anyway, this will happen when you accept a rez and have not released, reincarnate, soulstone, or anything else that makes you revive before becoming a ghost.

Originally posted by txxnnok found a little glitch, I used a soulstone on my lock after I died and the music kept going. I didnt read all the posts, so if it is a known one, sorry. Its late ready to hit the hay.
Ok, thanks for the report.
Until it is fixed, type /script AmDead:PLAYER_UNGHOST() into your chat and hit enter to make the music stop.

Originally posted by txxnnok OK, figured out the problem. It is extremly case sensitive. You have to have .MP3 at the end of it when your on WOW. So if the song is named dead you have to .MP3, so it would be dead.MP3 then click ok. It didn't work in lower case for me, I guess Vista files mp3 as capitals.
Yeah, it has to be exactly as it shows in the sounds folder :P.

Originally posted by txxnnok No luck yet, Like an idiot I did have the music option unchecked in the sounds interface. But after turning it on it didnt help. I tried adding more songs in the sounds folder. I get the name in chat dialogue, like its starting, but no music. I downloaded mp3 add on to make sure something wasn't wrong. It played.
Ive tried all the graphical ways I can think of to type it. I'll try again after they release the newer one. Thanks for trying.
The only thing I can possibly think of is the file name you entered in game not matching the name of the file in your sounds folder. An MP3 player addon adds the song based on the name in the sounds folder, and this one you have to enter it manually.

Originally posted by Icecoldcoke Ok, let me just test it out again for myself. I'll respond in a few mins.
Ok, I am not getting any song not playing problems. Please make sure that you have it typed exactly the same as the file in AmDead\Sounds. It is case sensitive, to my knowledge.
Also, that the file was in the folder before you started wow. Please also make sure that your AmDead folder, or Sounds folder have not been renamed.
Also, R4 should fix the problem with LibStub. It includes Ace3. That's just a temporary change, that fixes the problem, until I fix the real problem with it.

Have you placed the song inside of your Interface\Addons\AmDead\Sounds folder?
