What skin are you referring to? If it's something that the author will allow me to port, I will. As far as what makes an "original", you're right. The difference with this is that though I used the idea, the actual textures were created from scratch. But the problem was solved, so let's leave it at that.
As far as the Gloss goes, yeah, lots of people don't like them. That's one reason BF was created, to give the user the option of disabling it or setting its intensity.
I don't see any similarity between a Caith UI screenshot and the square skin in Neal's link. To be honest, there's not too many different ways to make a grey square, with a white/grey/black border, and not too many different ways to add a gloss effect. Besides, does slapping a gloss effect onto a Vol skin actually count as an "original creation"? I've seen various versions of that half gloss skin that he linked and hate them all, they look ugly on a button. But thats my personal preference. I like the skin that Delsim uses, but its not ported to Button Facade yet, and this Caith UI port is the closest match.
As of 2.4.5, all of the textures are based completely on Vol and Voll II and were created from scratch. There should be no further issue with this skin as none of the textures or code are take from another skin.
I apologize, Neal, if you felt imposed upon. I do thank you for your input. However, the name of this skin will remain. Not because of a mistaken creator but in honor of Caith's great UI work.
Sorry but this ist not Caith's Skin. I've made this Skin a long time ago because the nongloss Vol skin was not beautiful so I made my own but with a little gloss effect.
Caith used this only in their UI which is so popular and all think that is her skin.
