CombatCam menu
CombatCam
Automatically zoom the camera view to user defined views when entering or leaving combat or Mounting, or shifting to a travel form. Supports a fourth custom view that can be set through a slash command and put into a macro.

A bonus feature is the SmartEdit option. If you enable this, it will de-focus the Edit Box if you enter combat while typing a message, allowing you to use your keybound actions. Simply continue typing after the fight (you don't need to click the edit box, even though the blinking cursor isn't initially visible after the fight.) This feature supports WIM (WOW Instant Messenger) as of v2.4.04

The first time you log on after installing CombatCam, the config window will appear for you to set up your views and enable the mod. It also gives instructions on using the mod. *currently not saved when restarting the game - working on it*

The config menu can be displayed at any time by typing /combatcam (or /ccam) in the chat box.

Note: Blizzard allows only 5 preset views, with one (first person view) being fixed and unchangeable. These views are set globally across all characters on a given WoW installation, so you will only need to set your views on one character, and any changes will affect all characters.

Slash Commands:
/ccam
- opens config window
/ccam zin
- "zoom in" to first person view
/ccam zout
- "zoom out" to your custom view
NOTE: these last two commands can be put into a macro to be used with any skill or action you want.

CombatCam mod uses all of the four usable views

Credits: this mod owes its inspiration to Dynamic Camera written by ChoasInc, over on wowUI. I wanted something simple and straightforward that only involved combat to give a "final fantasy" feel to the game when you agro something.
  Change Log - CombatCam
v3.0.04
-------
- mount detection working properly now, I think.
- Still haven't found a way to save changes to the views... sorry.
v3.0.03
-------
- Made settings account wide
- Fixed behavior of Mounted View
Note: Blizzard now resets camera views whenever you exit and restart the game, so you may wish to set the views at the beginning of each WoW session... Sorry for the inconvenience. I'm hoping Blizzard will realize that it's a useless and annoying change.

v3.0.02
-------
- removed overlooked debug messages

v3.0.01
-------
- WotLK update
- added mounted view (no longer a seperate addon requiring Titan Rider)
- includes travel forms (flight form, cheetah, ghost wolf) for mounted view

v2.4.06
-------
- Added abbreviated form of the slash command (/ccam).
- Added some additional info to the description.

v2.4.05
-------
- Fixed an issue where SmartEdit would change the behaviour of the Escape key when using WIM.
- Fixed a bug that would sometimes cause SmartEdit to be disabled at login.

v2.4.04
-------
- Added support for WIM (WOW Instant Messenger) in the SmartEdit module.

v2.4.03
-------
- Added support for Titan Rider AutoCam

v2.4.02
-------
- Integrated config window with Blizzard Interface panel
- Added SmartEdit option

v2.4.01
-------
- Initial release

Using CombatCam with abilities

Thanks for the kudos, Colonel. I've updated the description to explain how you can use the slash command to associate the custom view to an ability. you can put the command in as many macros as you like. Also, if you want to associate a particular action with one of the other preset views, you can use this command in your macro

/<some action>
/script SetView(x);

where x is:
1 - first person view (same as "/ccam zin")
2 - "normal" view
3 - mounted view (if using Titan Rider Autocam... otherwise Blizzards preset medium view)
- edit: now incorporated into this addon.
4 - combat view
5 - your custom view (same as "/ccam zout")

You can disable the addon's auto camera functions and still use it to change your views from the Blizz defaults and use them in macros.
In fact you can use the script command in your macros without this addon, but you won't be able to change the views to your liking... It will just use the Blizzard presets, like pressing Home and End on your keypad.

Hope this helps

More features...

Hey, I recently found Dynamic Camera... but the author quit. Then I found your addon. I was wondering if you could add in some other events, though. I got the Titan Rider addon... and I loved it.

So, I anyway, I play a warrior, and I was wondering if it was possible to make a "camera action" when using a skill? I tried it with dynamic camera... but it doesn't work.

Anyway, thanks for making this addon. It's addons like these that enchance WoW more than anything else.

P.S. I made a new account just to write this. >_>

This addon already is a standalone addon. It has no dependencies and no libraries. It's very small (3 whopping KB), and uses practically no resources. You can disable the camera functions and just use SmartEdit. On the other hand, don't knock it 'til you try it. You might be surprised.

*Note: the camera views are already built into WoW (you can just press Home and End to cycle through them) All this addon does is allow you to change them from their defaults and automatically switch between them when you enter or leave combat.

I hate to say it, but if it wasn't for the smart edit feature, I probably wouldn't have even downloaded this... the camera options were more the added bonus to me... very handy, though.

Gracias

Thanks, p3lim. Not many people can spare the time to leave feedback, let alone rate the addons they use.
