had being key word. i didnt have all the cart modules enabled. So i enabled them all and the mod worked. Trial and error testing them all narrowed it down to the Notes module.
I deleted the WTF and Interface folders entirely. I then ran Warcraft just long enough to readjust video settings and to auto-create the deleted folders. I then added Cartographer and QI, and nothing else. I loaded Warcraft and got this error message:
Interface\AddOns\Cartographer_QuestInfo\map.lua:41 : attempt to index local 'CN' (a nil value)
I opened my map and clicked on the Cartographer button. The AddOn screen came up and I saw that QI was still on the list; when I selected it, the "Enabled" checkbox was unchecked. I clicked on the checkbox and got the same error message as before, then QI disappeared from the list.
For the love of our Heavenly Father and all that is decent and holy, I have to have this addon working. Can someone please tell me how to fix this?
**EDIT** n/m. Some extremely furious random clicking got it working. Don't know what I did, but it works. I'm never changing my addons again. EVER.

I've downloaded QI latest version, and also cartographer via the link on QuestInfo, but they seem to not work together... can't see the QI button when i bring the map up...

EDIT: nvm just managed to fix it (so far)
For the people that runs into the same problem:
1. delete variables in account folder
2. dowload Cartographer from http://www.wowace.com
3. download QI from here
4. remember to not fade the borders of the map
EDIT2: I still can't press the objectives on the quest log...
Here are the steps I took, yet unfortunately they would not work.
1) Downloaded and installed Cartographer2, MapNotes and CQI.
2) Loaded the game and made sure those 3 addons were enabled.
3) Ran /script MapNotes_ImportCarto()
Now, after I do those 3 steps, I get a message in my chat box saying "<MapNotes>: 0 Notes Imported"
If I go through the CQI menu and show available and active quests, my map becomes full of ! yet if I run the script again, no notes are copied.
For some reason, it seems that MapNotes will not "copy" all of CQI's data.
I will post this on MapNotes' page too.
It would still be much easier for CQI to be a standalone addon, I think. That way, it could work with Mapster, Cartographer or maybe even AlphaMap.

Any chance we could right click on quest giver icons and remove that quest entirely or say we have completed it already. For instance, drops that start a quest will show up like 50 times on a map. It gets kinda tedious having to click each individual one to remove their note, and what if we want the note on another toon, we lose them.
