Data Broker display
Accountant   Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
About
Accountant is a basic tool to track your gold income and expenses within WoW. It logs running totals by mode (session, day, week, total) of how much gold you have spent and earned from vendors / loot / repair / quests etc...
It includes a "cache box" that will 'hide' gold from the total displayed in the main window or the LDB. It in no way changes the gold you have.

The money information will be saved for each realm. Each character on each realm will be tracked. You must log in to each character before it can be shown in Accountant.

The last selected tab and character is remembered.

Accountant is Data Broker compliant. You need a Data Broker display add-on. The Data Broker 'button' shows the same net profit / loss selected in Accountant main window. The tooltip shows net details.

Usage
Either click the minimap button or use /acc to view your accountant log.

Known issue:
1) Gold is put in wrong category. [Mail instead of AH]
- Open mail from the auction house and close but do not pull the gold out. Then open the mail again and pull out. The gold will go into the Mail category not auction house (AH).
- You will also see this when using Auctioneer
I found this on a recent change to BeanCounter (Auctioneer). It opens mail to get info and leaves the mail as 'read'. This makes it 'hidden' to other addons. Blizzard has no way to change mail state ('read' to 'unread' for example).
If someone has read this far and knows how to get info from read mail - please message me. :-)

As always please let me know of any other issues.

(See change log for details.)
  Change Log - Accountant
History:
v3.6.00:
- Updated toc for 3.2 patch
- Add new option to show total on LDB button.
- Added a 'cache box' to 'hide' money from the total. Only the total in
the Accountant frame or Accountant LDB button is affected.
Note: You are allowed to cache more money than you have resulting in a
negative amount being shown.
- Resized window to show more gold (for those lucky few!)

v3.5.00:
- Fixed library dependencies that caused a lot of errors.
- Moved options to the Blizzard options for addons.
- Added the option to 'remove' Accountant data for a character. The character could have been deleted.
- Added the option to 'merge' Accountant data of two characters. The character could have been renamed.
- Cleaned up parts of the code.
- Fixed an error when user had selected 'All Chars' tab and used a LDB addon - the tooltip threw an error.
- Made the numbers shown 'stack' better vertically
- Fixed an error where the Accountant title was no showing.

v3.4.02:
- Added some German translation thanks to ylarion.

v3.4.01:
- Removed a debug statement that was appearing in chat.

v3.4.00:
- Fixed error popping up when opening Accountant.
- Now allow gold to transfer between characters via mail instead of ignoring

v3.3:
- Fixed a typo causing the Data Broker icon to not be shown.

v3.3:
- Now has a Lib Data Broker component. If you have a Data Broker display addon
it will display the net profit/loss of the session / day / week / total tabs.
Or the Total of all characters if the 'All Chars' tab is selected.
Note: This has been tested with Titan Panel only.
- The last tab and character(s) selected are now remembered, by character, across logins.
- Net loss (negative) is shown as gold with "()" around it. This is in line with
accounting practice.
- Data Broker button tooltip gives the break down (net) into categories
- If you use the Titan Accountant addon, it will display the same value as
the Data Broker component. This is redundant - the Titan Addon should be removed.

v3.2:
- Changes to allow to run in Lich King (Beta)
v3.1:
NOTE: You MUST (re)log into each character you want see in Accountant!
There is new data saved for each character that is needed by the recent changes.
The current data is NOT lost.
- New look and feel. The older UI was too hard to change and maintain for what I needed.
- Added the ability to choose all Alliance and / or all Horde.
- Added a character pull down to see a single character. (suggested by Inwe Anwame)

3.01:
- Removed realm name from all character tab. Long realm names can wrap to the next row making the tab messy to read

3.00:
- Updates; repair category now shows correctly

Prior to 3.0:
This was updated at the request of a friend. Accountant appears to be currently unsupported so a new version was required.

(that I can glean from posted versions)
Accountant By Sabaki, Shadow, and Rophy
Accountant Continued by Quel (this was the version I started with)
Accountant Classic by Arith
And likely many others that helped this addon

When you reach 100000g in the upper part of the window (where Revenue and Expenditure are), numbers start to add "..." at the end.

Example: 100000g 60s 4...

You might want to add support for 100000g and over, the middle sections also start overlapping with 6 digits with 5 digit being border line.

Images for reference:

Really great addon tho, 5/5.

Not sure if this helps either question.
Thanks for the tip! I ran across Altaholic yesterday and just started looking into it.

The 'deposit box' idea has merit. I'll add it to the list of possible features.

Keep the ideas flowing!

(I hope that made sense I haven't had my coffee yet.)
Despite no coffee your request was clear. Neat idea, I only have one account so it did not occur to me.
I did a little research on this and I do not see a way.
For security reasons (among others) I found no routine to grab the account name. Also the 'highest' level data is stored is the account level so there is no way to 'reach' across accounts.

Even if it could be done, the addon would have to have a method to specify accounts (and toons) to allow for a 'family' PC or an internet gaming PC.

I second this. I miss DepositBox and have always used DepositBox and Accountant together. Combining the two would be absolutely wunderbar.

Thanks. Deleting my savedvariable file indeed got rid of the error.
