gnome dust in action
GnomeDust
GnomeDust infuses enchanting rods with arcane Gnomish power.

Simply cast an enchant on an item and witness the glory of Gnomish arcane might.

Enjoy.

update:

i've been hearing reports that some people have been injured by the sheer power unleashed by gnome dust. the gnomish enchanters guild takes these things very seriously and has contacted me to express their displeasure.

i'm currently in negotiations with the guild to address their concerns.

in the meantime, gnomedust continues to function -- but please use with caution!

further update:

the gnomish enchanters guild has agreed to impart to me the secrets of the rare enchanting fairy. their position on the matter was that normal folk would simply not be able to safely manage the power that pure gnomedust might invoke. i disagreed, but hey, they're the guild.

i've been instructed to modify the gnomedust addon to summon forth an enchanting fairy to act as a conduit for the enhanced power unlocked with gnomedust. it took a bit of finagling, but i think i got it all worked out to automatically summon one of these little wonders when you cast your enchant.

somebody at the guild also mentioned the possibility that non-enchanters might be able to summon a fairy if they could manage to attract their attention. i think he was a bit off his rocker cuz he kept running around dancing, bowing and cheering for no reason. he must have seen that i didn't trust him cuz as i was stepping into my portal back to shattrath, he actually yelled at me that he could summon enchanting fairy. loon.

thanks.

the "updates" actually fit the updates of the file as i was changing things. i recently wrote a new description for the curse d/l page since the updates didn't follow suit. it used to just say "enchanting eye candy".

Ah never mind, he is just shy!

(nice touch with all the randomness (colors, size, speed etc))

thanks. the randomness is actually based on the enchant recipe specs -- so a recipe will always have the same look. for summoned fairies it's just random.

if "by others" you mean will other players see the effect, then no -- unless they're standing over your shoulder anyway.

i dunno, that seems kinda dangerous. gnomish magic is not something to trifle with.

that said, i'll see what i can do.

Pretty sure this won't "proc" for them, unless they also have the addon installed.
