I realise your going to make a button in the near future to hide it temporarily but would it be possible to get a hot key to lock in a spot temporarily. This way you could still see whats being casted and you can press the button to snap it back on to your mouse after doing whatever you needed.

I am having problems with this addon as well when the addon is idle (no totem dropped it sits around 1.59mbs while in raid) As soon as I drop all of my totems it sky rockets up to 10-11mbs and will go back down to 1.59mbs once I recall them.
