Thanks for checking. You may also notice the size of the nameplate might change depending on the size of the mob so that may affect your calculations too. The blizzard nameplate changes size for small and regular size mobs in the Valley of the Four Winds for example.

as far as i have ever been able to tell, unlike "bar-style nameplates", these "text nameplates" (which appear when a unit is out of nameplate range, and/or when nameplates are disabled) are not graphical objects that an addon can access. they seem to be artifacts purely of the WoW Client, managed entirely down inside the WoW Client....

Thanks for the info about nameplate glow. Checked the settings and noticed the style was empty so I set it to an item like partial soft outline and it works again. Sorry for the trouble, maybe an update reset the variable. Keep up the good work.
