Regarding Bartender... Have you checked if the Spartan UI Profile is available in the BArtender options? If yes, delete it. Close WoW and restart. Spartan UI will recreate the bartender profile again. I used this solution when two of my action bars switched the position for only some chars and I was not able to find the reason...

If you have still the file Module-ChatFrame.lua from the older version, you can just exchange the actual file with this older version. It worked for me and I have now the old chat design back without getting any chat error.
