Smooth health fading with colours?

Any chance there's a way to make the health fade smoothly, with colours? Say, a full health globe (100%) shows a green globe, half-full (50%) shows an orange globe, and an almost empthy health globe (10%) is close to dark-red? Doesn't look like usual health-colour addons are working in this case, and I'm really wondering if this...
