I love this designer and it is the only one I use. I haven't seen any movement on it for 6 months now. Is it still being worked on or should I find another primary addon development IDE?

Yeah, I was having extract problems also so I downloaded lastest version directly from WoWAce. From the links in the description it looks like WoWAce is Cartographers home. There is also a bunch of Cartographer addons listed here too. http://files.wowace.com/ The revision numbers are also newer on WoWAce.
