Have you thought about implementing ForteXorcist for a cooldown bar? It can be setup to fade away when there's nothing on cooldown (or if something is on such a long cooldown that you don't need to be notified about it until it's nearly back up like a hearthstone). It keeps with your overall aesthetic but is a lot more informative...

What do the red sections on the trailing section of your cast bar represent? I thought it might be tied to the ping to represent the time range where you couldn't reliably cancel your cast, but it seems to jump all over the place regardless of the ping.
