Menu closing suppression?

Is there a way to suppress the closing of the TT menu until a totem has dropped? Normally, I'll have cast a spell (e.g. Riptide) and in the middle of a global cooldown I'll notice that a totem ran out or was killed, so I open the menu and just about miss-press the key for the totem right before the GCD ends, at which point I have to...
