I ran several tests. Below are my findings. In summary, blacklisting the buff/debuff icons in the Blizz compact frames seems to have no effect on my primary issue (being locked into Global binding mode when a clickable frame suddenly appears), and I was unable to reproduce the secondary issue (being locked into Default binding mode...
