Welcome screen not fading

I've been really enjoying Carbonite for about a month, but suddenly today, the welcome screen isn't fading away. I've reloaded the UI as well as exited and come back in with the same behavior.

Any ideas?

Hmm... it finally left when I got into combat... weird.
