Can someone tell me what software this is...
Anyone know what board software is driving this community page...
http://stackoverflow.com/questionsI have an application for something like that. |
Hm.. looks like a wiki of some kind. Might be self made.
Looks horrible to be honest.. /edit reading http://stackoverflow.com/about seems to suggest it is self made, then again, they could just mean the content not the backend. /edit 2 http://meta.stackoverflow.com/ ; Welcome to Q&A about the Stack Exchange engine powering these sites -- check out the FAQ! /edit 3 http://meta.stackoverflow.com/questi...re-have-a-name http://meta.stackoverflow.com/questi...etworking-tool http://meta.stackoverflow.com/questi...to-other-sites So, guess it is something they created themselves. I'm sure there's a package out there that does the same. I'm curios (sp?) what you've in mind tho. |
I don't think it's self made... it's also in use by the Unity team...
http://answers.unity3d.com/It's not the prettiest board, but the function of it is very good. I've worked with a bit on the Unity site while I've been learning that game engine. As for application... it's something of a political nature, but I don't want to say anything about it yet. Unrelated to WoW anyway. |

Thanks for the info. |
http://answers.yahoo.com/ uses a similar layout, tho haven't looked at what the backend used is.
If work allows I could try to search this weekend. Perhaps this one ? http://www.manageengine.com/products...ter/index.html http://demo.supportcenterplus.com/ |
The thing I liked about that system was that the user community was self organizing... the vote up/down, the question/answer and accept function, and the reputation feature. It's a brilliant execution of a self-organizing chaos function that does not require a huge investment of admin hours to manage.
It's not the layout that turned me on, it was the functionality. |

http://www.experts-exchange.com/* http://www.geekinterview.com/ http://tweakers.net/nieuws/69725/mic...-apps-uit.html Edit, the last one, tweakers, is build in colloberatian (sp?) with http://react.nl/index.php?TreeID=2. * this site is somewhat interesting. If you're not a member or not logged on you can't read the forum/replies. If a google search turns up a result on that site however you can. (IIRC the site had to else google would stop listing them) |
Just to add something wow related to this:
Here is a wow related Q&A forum using the stack exchange software: http://epicadvice.com/ |
Looks like a hole worth filling... but I have too many other pokers in the fire as is... so, another time.
