Action Bar timers

just wondering if its possible to make it so that i can turn off the timers on my action bars? i use autobar and omnicc for timers on autobar, but it also adds timers to the action bar and makes a dual layer that is some what annoying.

thanks in advance for any help.

No... I'm sorry... there's no facility for disabling the timers on nUI's action bars. It is not intended that OmniCC be used together with nUI.

Solgath 04-10-09 07:07 AM

no worries, i'll just have to get used to not using OmniCC :p

I was going to ask the exact same question for the exact same reasons as the OP.

Saves me time poking around the lua files looking for the function.

I use Inline Auras along with OmniCC and thought I could get rid of OmniCC with nUIs built in counters but no can do .. Im just living with the overlay of text and hardly notice the lower number.

spiel2001 04-11-09 07:07 PM

Why do you still need OmniCC?

Xrystal 04-11-09 07:40 PM

Inline seems to use OmniCC font settings to display their own values on the same button. So I have 2 numbers, the cooldown and the debuff cooldown. Works best for me on my shadow priest.

Actually, I never realised nUI had numbers on the buttons, I had thought they were to do with Inline. Guess they were too small a font for my eyes to discern.

o.O

The built in cooldown timers on nUI's action bars are like 3/4 the height of the bar... wonder if you have some old font artifacts or something that's interfering... they're like big and yellow, kinda hard to miss.

Xrystal 04-12-09 05:59 AM

Ah, I do have large yellow numbers but don't recall seeing them before I added the inline aura addition.

When I do my next addon reshuffle at the beginning of the month I'll hold off of inline and omnicc and see how things look then.

sry for the delay on the replay. thought i could live without OmniCC.

the reason i use OmniCC is cause it adds cooldowns to everything that has a CD, like HS, Pots, quest items stuff like that, all NUI does is add CDs to skills, its why i like OmniCC, cause with it, i don't have to guess or open my bag when i need to see how long i got on my HS and what not.

even if someone could make an addon so that OmniCC works with it that would be awesome, i enjoy nUI, and have used it sine MirageUI died.

Keep up the good work, on hell of an addon.

Xrystal 05-17-09 10:16 PM

Yeah, I went back to using OmniCC and inline auras myself. The two together really help me time my dots better on my priest and warlock.

Solgath 05-19-09 12:03 PM

my only problem i have noticed, i think its caused when OmniCC is active is it doesn't show GDs, which is a pain on my hunter, thats about all i can for see, and i think it only does it on the main skills bar, where i have all the attacks i use most of the time.

I beg to differ... nUI does show cooldowns on trinkets, pots, hearthstone, spells, etc. I'm not sure why you wouldn't have been seeing them unless it was a conflict of some sort.

What does this give you that nUI doesn't?

(in as much detail as you can, so I can see what I have to do to implement it)

Xrystal 05-19-09 12:56 PM

Omni CC works like the cooldown numbers you already have appearing on the buttons if I remember rightly but less configurable.

Inline Aura's does what your debuff icons do but instead of appearing in the hud they appear on the buttons themselves. Which helps me see exactly which spell I need to cast next instead of looking at both the hud and the buttons to do the same thing.

So, OmniCC is displayed as a large number in the center of the button so I know its on cooldown. Inline Aura appears as a smaller number on the button of the button with the stacks to the right.

Next time I log in my priest I'll take a screen shot and let you see it first hand. I'm sure once the Layout Engine has been finished I will concentrate on setting up a shadow priesty / warlock layout to take into account all those dots.

spiel2001 05-19-09 01:01 PM

Okay -- so the bottom line is that you're really look for two numbers in the action bars... one that's the cooldown time remaining and a second that shows how much longer before the spell expires on the current target... yes?

Xrystal 05-19-09 01:28 PM

Yep, its helped me wonders in my spell rotation. If I could have it in one addon instead of 2 I'd be happy. To have it part of the interface I'd be ecstatic.

Okay here's some screenshots to give you an idea of what they do together. If you look closely you will just see the nUI numbers underneath.

One of them shows my shadow priest with all her dot timers showing up thanks to inline auras and the bigger cooldown number thanks to omnicc.

The other is my mage and demonstrates that it caught the fireball proc and it shows me that I have 15 seconds to utilise the fireball before I lose the bonus.

OKay -- I can do that

well i must be missing something, because, my Autobar has no CD on it, and none of my items in my bag have a CD, i have to actually mouse over them to see what its CD is, which shows in the tooltip, OmniCC actually applies it to the item, so i can see it with having to mouse over, same goes for Autobar.
