Addon to quiet flapping pets?

Is there any addon that allows us to quiet the flap-flap-flap of our flying companions?

hehe i always wondered that too

i think there is none and you have to alter a file in your wow folder

You'd need to find the exact sound that you do not like. I recommend looking at
http://www.wowinterface.com/download...dforWrath.html
to help you find the one(s) you want. You might want to use this in conjunction with a .mpq extraction utility.

Then, once you've found the right sound file, you just put a blank .wav file with that sound in the correction location in your WoW folder. WoW will play that blank sound instead of the one you do not care for.

You can check this thing I put together to silence the screaming in Ulduar and Naxx for an example of file structure: http://www.wowinterface.com/download...amingSara.html

I'm the author of that sound file listing.

I've i've updated that sound file listing again tonight as I was having problems with my text processing getting all the duplicates gone. The one you download now should be the final version. So if you have ones with non working commands download again and you should get the right one - i just test that now.

It should have every sound file from the MPQ files in there as I filter on a few common sound file extensions then I alter on everything else like the model file extensions , "sound" directories , "music" directories until I have nothing left in my listing of everything in the MPQ files.

And before anyone asks if you check the UI and Macros official forum and check under the UI policy thread you will see that officially Blizzard are ok by this way of replacing sounds.

But but but there is actually a much simplier way of silencing the pet emotes then sound replacement I believe.

Have a look in your Sound options. I do believe there is an option there for turning off pet emotes :)
