First try
 
Hey peeps,
I want to share my first try with you.
Would like some feedback,hints to make it better.

Looks nice but a little too cluttered around the minimap for my taste.

Personal opinion only; I would make it a bit more opaque so as not to distract from the important information that needs to be seen.

That final one looks real nice, I like the textures you used. You might try making the textures a bit more opaque as Silenia suggested, it might help draw attention away from the texture.

Oh, it's the Opacity, if you did it in photoshop, it probably has an option for "Opacity" in the layers area you lower that and the image becomes clear or see-through.

Sorry for the English lesson, but just so we don't confuse those who use English as a second language... that would be "a bit *less* opaque" as opaque is the opposite of transparent... something that is more transparent is less opaque and visa versa.
