Question

I have downloaded nUI+ as directed but am not sure if it is working properly. When I log into game I check to make sure none of my old addons are installed from Curse Client. When I enter world I see no dashboard or frame rates, it is just my default WOW interface that came with game. I even tried a clean install as directed in the e-mail and still nothing.
When i did download nUI+ originally it was put into my download folder and I unzipped it then copied and pasted it into both my old Interface folder and my new Interface.saved folder that I created as i was directed in the first time nUI users installation process.
Now before I started using nUI+ I was using the old nUI which is available through Curse Client, but i didn't uninstall it the first time when i downloaded nUI+, i don't know if this my affect it or not. If u guys can help me in any way I would appreciate it. Thank you for your time and effort.

you put it in the rong spot it goes in worldofwarcraft/interface/addons folder

Also, don't forget that it is not the unzipped folder you copy over to the interface\addons folder but the folder within that.

Make sure you're working in the correct directory tree, as well.

If you are on a Windows 7 or Windows Vista machine, the correct path is normally [ C: > Users > Public > Games > World of Warcraft > Interface > AddOns ] -- on a Windows XP box it is normally [ C: > Program Files > World of Warcraft > Interface > AddOns ]

Inside the ZIP you downloaded is a single [ nUI ] folder. You need to copy that into the [ World of Warcraft > Interface > AddOns ] folder. You don't put the ZIP file (nUI_5.06.07.zip) itself into the WoW folder and you don't put the ZIP folder (nUI_5.06.07) in the WoW folder. When you're done, you should have a [ World of Warcraft > Interface > AddOns > nUI ] folder... anything other than that is wrong.

One further note: make sure you do not use the Curse Client to update nUI+ -- it will break it.

I'm not sure how it's done, but if you try to update Carbonite with the Curse Client it pops up letting you know you must download it from WoW Interface. Perhaps you can ask the Curse Client devs to fix it to do that for nUI+? Or maybe it's some code that Carbonite has that does it.

It's my understanding that the problem is there's no directory or file structure difference between nUI and nUI+ -- which I actually did intentionally. But, apparently, that causes the updaters heartburn.

nUI6 actually addresses this problem by making nUI6 and nUI6+ two separate mods. That way the former can be updated from anywhere anytime and the latter is only available via the private download area at WoWI. That should fix the problem and make keeping nUI current easier for everyone. Hopefully it will also allow Minion to be able to be used to update nUI6+
