Map Glitch?
 

Hi,

First of all, I wanted to thank you guys for the great addon. I can't imagine the game without it now!

I'm just having a weird problem with my map:


It bleeds off to the side like this all the time since the newest update. I browsed the forums and couldn't see anything mentioning this, so I thought I would ask.

I can't find my way out of a wet paper bag at the best of times, so it's (humorously) having an affect on my game play. (There's a lot of, "Who put that wall there?" moments, let's just say. I'm sure people think I'm playing drunk. :P )

I've tried running just nUI on its own without any other addons running, and I have the same problem.

Any help would be appreciated!

Well... to be honest, looking at that image, I can't see what's wrong with it. Can explain in more detail.

what happens if you use '/nui minimap' and turn nUI's control of the minimap off. Do you still have the same problem? nUI has no control over the minimap at all other than it's location. The minimap is one of the "magic" things in WoW that Bliz doesn't let mods do much with... Bliz does all of the drawing and setting of POIs on the map, etc.

I have had this happen to me as well. Usually it is due to lag or my damn anti-virus trying to update while I am playing. :P

This is not a nUI bug.

@ spiel2001: When I used that command and it released the map to the top of the screen, I no longer have any problems with the map blurring to the side. Before patch 3.1 when I was running the release version of nUI rather than the developer I didn't have the problem, which was why I thought it was related to nUI.

@ Dramber: I'm 100% sure it's not related to that sort of lag. I have a $6000 system and I've never experienced any lag in any program before; I also never had the problem until switching to the developer version of nUI, so it sort of made sense that it was related to nUI.

It only happens in cities, if that helps at all? While I do love having the map docked neatly beside my character image, I'll leave it out of nUI's control if it works that way. :) The only unfortunate part is that with that command, the circle that usually holds the minimap has the map bleeding outside of it as a square rather than a circle. :?

Also... if it only happens in the cities, then it is lag... which has nothing to do with the power of your system and everything to do with how much network data it takes to keep up with everything that is happening.

Lag and FPS issues are very much a part of the 3.1 patch it seems.

My problem is not only with the minimap but also with the rep bars and the toggle button to change between combat minimap and recount. My problem with the minimap is that its at the top and I cant see anything but my arrow and the +,- buttons. Ive tried /nui minimap nothing ive also tried /nui roundmap and nothing. Also my problem with the toggle button is that it dosent work I can click it but nothing happens. I have tried to Clear out all my addons and install a fresh nui using only that and I still have the same problems. All this time I have been using Nui and once the 3.1 patch came out I couldnt use it anymore.

Using win Vista 64bit if that helps any

:confused: If it's network lag, then why does it only happen if I have nUI on? No map problems with nUI off; turn nUI on, instant map problems..?

Scaling of the map maybe?
