Chatbox?
 

I read the FAQ on the chatbox, but it didn't seem to solve the problem - I have a random chatbox slapped in the middle of the screen that displays channels like General, Trade, etc. When I try to mouse over to the top left to change it, the settings tab doesn't show up. Is there any way I can fix this?

While in game, hit Esc and go to Interface. Click on the Game Tab up top (if it's not there, you're already on it). Click on Social on the left. Do you have a tick in the box for the last option "Lock chat settings" ? If so, untick the box and you should be able to move your chat window.
