Pet bar issue

Hi I have a small issue with the pet bar and more importantly the part where you put your pet on passive mode, this bar is not accepting my clicks and therefore I am unable to switch between defensive and passive.
Now when questing tbh I don't give a you know what but last night during 10 man naxx at Kel the little git decided to pull all the fatties and I was clicking like mad but no go an dwe wiped. As a result my guild ranks has been reset to Uber huntard and my nick in vent is now nOOb.
I was able to to get the functionality back but only after I did /nui rl.
Also tested this on my DK and have same issue here but with ghoul and also the stance bar.
Could it be that the buttons are just a bit to small or is it something else?
Would be nice if you could help me out on this.

Well... to be sure, my 80 hunter would be the death of me if those buttons didn't work. In fact, if you watch the movie at http://www.nuiaddon.com/movies/movie01.html you'll see me using them. So something is up.

Pretty much always when something is not clickable that should be, it means there's an invisible panel floating about. Can you check your list of other addons and see if one of them jumps out at you and suggests it might have had a panel in that area of the screen?

As quick test would be to disabled all of your mods except nUI and see if you can click the buttons then. If not, let me know. Otherwise, you can start re-enabling your mods a few at a time and test each time to see if the problem comes back. If it does, you'll know it was one of the mods you just re-enabled.

Hmm thought of that and will do as you suggest.
What I found strange however is that when I reseted the UI the pet bar was usable therefore my thoughts moved to nUI rather then another add
If it isn't any of my adds then it might be that blizz voice thingie which is a small bar thats invisible and only pops up when voice is used.

Will keep you posted.

Other then that bloody brilliant add m8.

Acutally, the Bliz voice box may very well be the culprit. Let me know what you find. If it is the voice chat box, I'll add it to the managed frames and move it someone less annoying ~smile~

Hate to go off on a tangent on ya scott but curiosity grabbed my cat and is throwing it all over the room so i gotta ask....

Is there a specific reason why the stance and pet bars are merged rather than being seperate? Personaly i find it kind of annoying trying to sort through all the buttons on my dk with a ghoul up or when my tree's are summoned on my boomkin because the bars are merged.
Would it be possible to get a mod option to seperate them and for example stack them on top of each other instead? Hell even a visible space between the 2 bars would helpful.

Some people probably have less of an issue with this than others as i recently upgraded my wifes monitor to a 24" HD widescreen and god the difference is incredible compared to my old 20" crt.

That's a perfectly valid tangent.

The reason I don't stack them one on top of the other is that the second one would end up running up into the area where the range to target is displayed. Side by side kind of gets too wide for the solid dashboard textures as it is which is why I was cramming them together -- but I can see adding additional space... I'll see what I can do.

Okay... I've added a gap between the bars to help with visibility. It will be in the next maintenance release.

Ok i figured that was probably why. I think it would fit stacked but things would become.... crowded. The gap you are putting in should help a lot, thnx for that. Ive actualy taken the range to target feature out of mine because quite honestly i think it is useless. Most of the time it isnt reporting accurately and even when it is its not like its giving you a real range such as 37yds to target. My buttons turning red tell me more than that ;)

While in the subject of pet bar. Will you add the cooldown on the pets buttons?

Sometimes I manually click on cleave button on my felguard, but I don't know when the cool down is finished.

Or then... I'm a n00b (as always) and didn't see an option for that?

Martin.

Nah... you're not a noob... it's just not there.

I do need to get that taken care of.

Mcaffee 04-02-09 11:25 AM

Okay brilliant as I am I forgot to reply doh.
As per my original bug report that blizz voice thingie was the culprit.
I logged and turned of nUI had m8 talk to me on blizz voice and presto the thing popped up right where the pet bar is.
I moved the silly thing and now all is fine.

Cheers Mac
