[fixed/abandoned] comment options not functioning
 

In the comments sections of a download, the "Comment Options" dropdown does not do anything when clicked. No menu appears.


Firefox 15.0. It's happened with slightly earlier versions and I'm on the beta now. I've tried Safe Mode, no change.

Running the live version of Firefox 15 and its working for me...

Are you running any firefox addons?

I've tried Safe Mode, which disables most user customization, including addons.


I'll try a distribution-provided Firefox to see if there's a change.


[edit] no change with Firefox 15.0 provided by Ubuntu, using Lubuntu 12.04 (latest). Tried with and without safe moed. Clicking "Comment Options" does nothing but change my URL to append #goto_cmntopt - no dropdown is seen.

The commenting options magically started working again.

It occurs to me that I had an issue with newegg's commenting system. It's 1-5 egg rating was broken in the exact same way as the comment options dropdown box. It too is mysteriously working again.

There may have been a javascript engine issue.. I've no idea. I don't care enough to troubleshoot further.
