Picture Viewer Not Working
I'm trying to find out if this is a browser problem, but so far I don't think it shows up anywhere besides this site. When I try to select one of the pictures showing an addon, instead of the old pop-up picture viewer, I get a new window with just the one picture and no way to view the others. I don't think the mouseover pictures are showing up either, but I need to double-check that.
Any advice would be helpful. I'm running Safari on an iMac. Edit: The mouseover picture is loading. It just switches to a full view when I click it. |

I wonder if you have some bad cache? maybe command-R a few times on the page?
This is what it looks like for me on Safari on 10.8.1 |
Sounds like either:
(1) you have JavaScript disabled in your browser, or (2) you have JavaScript disabled on wowinterface.com, or (3) you're opening the picture link in a new tab/window, so it's bypassing the JavaScript that normally hooks the link click to pop open the overlay, and opening the actual HTML link URL. |
Still having issues
Yeah, that screen shot is how this website used to function for me. The Command-R didn't seem to help, and I definitely have javascript enabled at the browser level. Not sure I know how to change that on a per-website basis. I'm still running Safari 5 on 10.6.8. To my knowledge, no significant updates have come through except for maybe a Flash update. Would that be an issue? I don't really know how to distinguish one problem from another in that sense. Thanks for the help!
Edit: I should also note that when I first click on the picture window, it starts to expand as it once did, but then almost instantly switches to the "full view" with no option to look at the other pictures in the batch. |
Same problem here.
The picture starts to appear in the grey pop-up overlay and then it rapidly switches to a new window with only the single picture and no way to view the others. I am running 10.6.8 and have tried in Safari, Chrome and Firefox and no difference between them. I do have JavaScript turned on in each. |
Researching...
After some research, it looks like the problem and solution may lie in the Java Preferences app in the Utilities folder. However, I'm quite confused as to all the settings.

I was wondering about this myself. I was a bit confused for a while because it wasn't exclusive to WowInterface; Curse's pictures were not loading properly either. After some thought, I figured it out: some of FireFox's plugins are not working as intended.

Still not working on Safari
So... I'm pretty sure I checked out this site on Firefox months ago and I don't think it was working. Now it is, though. Tried comparing the settings in Safari to Firefox... but no luck so far. It's a minor inconvenience, I suppose. Still, wish I could figure it out.
Actually, I suppose I could just play WoW instead. |
We use the standard jquery.lightbox for the pictures and this is the script that needs to load... http://cdn.wow.mmoui.com/clientscrip...lightbox.js?v2
Is that blank for you? If so then there may be in issue with our CDN in your area. |
On a related note, rather than hardcoding style="display:none" on images other than the first one, it would be better to apply this style from the lightbox script itself, so that users without JavaScript, or users for whom the lightbox script isn't loading for some reason, can still see those images.
