Buff bars

i know this has been asked in one way or an other but have to give it a shot... is there any way we can get some options for the buffs.. e.i. where there are.. how transparent they are... things like that...

i love this add on but the buffs are killing me.. i like Elkbuff alot, even if you can hide the buff bar would be great...

i know the answer is going to be that they are all worked into one core but don't want to give up on this mod over one small part...

any help would be great... thanks...

just to add to this.. the biggest thing for me is size and opacity.. even if i have to change it in the lula

There is not option to change the opacity. However, you can change the size and location by editing [ Interface > AddOns > nUI > Layouts > Default > UnitPanels > {panel mode} > nUI_UnitSkin_{panel mode}_{unit id}.lua ]

Just locate the auras section and you'll see the option there for size on both the help and harm auras.

There's also a plugin you can find in the "nUI: Unit Frame Panels" section called nUI Aura Buttons which entirely changes the style and location of the auras.

First and foremost - I LOVE nUI+ Thank you for creating it and all the hard work you put into on a regular basis!

Second, I'm a noob >.< I have always been so-so about the buff/debuff bars on the right and left sides of my screen (my only discomfort with the whole mod I assure you) and have learned to get used to it over the months I've had this installed. And in searching the tech support forums I see this discussion and would really love to minimize these bars just so I have more screen space. It appears you have given a solution above as to how to fix this but I don't quite understand what the edit Interface > AddOns > nUI > Layouts > Default > UnitPanels > {panel mode} > nUI_UnitSkin_{panel mode}_{unit id}.lua means...

Also, I actually do prefer the bars over the individual pictures now that I'm used to the bars (see its not even an entire dislike lol) so the aura buttons are not necessary. :)

Any explaination would be appreciated! Thank you so much!

Lua files are simple text files, so you can open them in any plain text editor like Notepad and use that to modify the content of the file. In a windows environment, you can just right click the file in your explorer and select "Open With" then select "Notepad" from the list.

As an alternative, you can download Lua editors like "woW UI Designer" which is available as a free download here on WoWI: http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/cat49.html

So what your saying is...

Once I open up the Lua file I can adjust the font size to (for example) 9, I don't know what the current size is atm as I'm writing from work  Will that then adjust the corresponding buff picture size? Or the overall buff boxes themselves?

I guess once I get home and try playing with the numbers on the Lua file I may answer my own questions. Then again, there is this awful chance I just confuse myself more! /crosses fingers

Thank you for your assistance! :)

There are separate values for the button size and the font size. You'll see when you look at it.

I'll suggest it as Scott has suggested before, get notepad++ if you are serious about lua editing and like doing it in a text editor, best thing ever :D. It colors things and overall just makes it a nice and easy experience.
