HUD Design, need some help Speil

Spiel, I wanted to ask, I suspect the issue I'm having is the in combat/OOC transparency on the HUD, when I have a target selected, it looks fine, but soon as I begin combat, well, I'll show you, it just about blacks out.

The first one is OOC, no target, second is in combat, third is OOC targeting, I'd want them all to look like the third, I presume there is something I have to change?

As for the hud itself, I know I asked you, but I'm still a bit confused, I know how to change it for myself, but how could I get one out for everyone?

Disregard the RH bar, that's one I need to redo, the tribal one is the one I'm worried about ;).

OK, never mind, it was my own issue, I still would like to know how to package it for everyone, if possible. Last one has the issue fixed, if you are wondering, since I can't figure out how to make it so the tribal pattern is the background of the HUD, I just indented all the bars in it, which is why it has them even without them being there.

I don't think there is a way to do it without making sure that people know that you are overriding the default files. Until the Layout Engine is complete manual file changes is the only way.

Actually, you can package the HUD for others.

For now the way to do that is to replace the current HUD layouts with your own layouts when the "VARIABLES_LOADED" event fires.

You should be able to grab the textless HUD plugin from the "nUI: HUD Designs" section at http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/cat125.html and use it as a framework for replacing the default HUDs with your custom HUDs.

So you create your own HUD plugin and copy your modified HUD elements into that, then have your elements replace the default ones in the tables when the "VARIABLES_LOADED" event fires, nUI will then build the HUD using your layout and art rather than mine when the "PLAYER_LOGIN" event fires a few seconds later.

~lol~

Nah... you keep doing what you do because you're almost always right and a bigtime help. I'll just correct the record when needed and we both learn.

I should add, too, that this is all mostly "kinda new" stuff and part of what the layout engine is all about. The HUD is actually already "done" so it does fully support replacing the default HUD with new HUD designs of any type. It's just not documented yet because I'm trying to keep it to a dull roar until the who engine is ready... then I'm going to stand back like a proud Grandpa and watch everyone else dazzle me with their new layout designed for nUI.

It's really exciting to me to see the process starting and as soon as I can finish the engine, I'll be posting user guide instructions for customizing the layout that documents all of the available features and options.

Well, I'll be glad to modify the new engine as well as this one ;), I'm sure you know the feeling of people using your stuff, it feels great :D.
